Can we ALL come with you?! Seriously, I vaguely remember my life in corporate America when I travelled for work. Of course, at the time I had very young children and cried every time I left them. If I only knew then what I know now!!! Enjoy your time away - I'm sure it will be hard for you.
Oh d, that sounds dreamy-time alone......let me just close my eyes and imagine that for a moment..........................nope, they hunted me down and have now commandeered the remote and want to know what's for dinner.
Thanks NJMom--just saw your note. Glad you were able to use it. I'm home today but have been so busy since my first trip out at 6:45 this morning for milk and the oldest is due home is 1 hour and I have 380 dollars worth of groceries to unload. Our house and KITCHEN were especially "lived in" this last couple of weeks. The whole Christmas thing seemed to go VERY fast. Maybe because T-day was so late. I don't know.
I know LUV...when Steve says he's taking some time off I just look at him. I'm going back to work for about 1 week a month and it involves travel...I CANNOT WAIT!!! A hotel room all to myself, dinner out, A BATHROOM TO MYSELF...gimme a break.
I wish mine would have been that energetic! Hubby and son controlled the TV with some sort of sport on it almost non-stop. When daughter wasn't with her best friend, she seemed to be sleeping. Then there was the kitchen: I love to cook, but they wore me out with the constant feedings. I guess it wasn't so much the cooking as the cleaning up after each culinary event.
Don't get me wrong, our Christmas was a wonderful time with family and there were some really fun times, but it would be nice if my family would remember that I'm supposed to be on "vacation" too.
I'll second that! Just sent the hubby and kids off after almost two weeks of togetherness. Had a great time but enough already! They spent most of the break playing Monopoly or table tennis in an ultracompetitive manner!
I have made a plan for next year's holiday break: I'm taking 2 days of vacation AFTER the rest of the family has gone back to work/school! Mental health days!
