Hot cocoa is just what everyone needs. That and some yummy oatmeal, cranberry, pecan, white chocolate cookies.
So I'm in the ER last night with serious and scary thrombus pain in my abdomen when this old, arrogant doctor comes in, presses around a few times, you know, just to make sure he understands where the pain is coming from, and then says, "Oh, that spot? That's your ovary. Are you on your period?" Grrrrrr I wanted to reach out, grab a hold and say, "Oh these? They're your _____s. Do you want me to let go?"
I'm taking a break luv. No class for four weeks! Wooo hooooooo!

CC, you definitely need a break!! Maybe it's time to just let some of those "things" in our lives go. If I don't get my cards out until the last minute, then so be it. Will someone's life be shattered by not having my card on their mantle 2 weeks before Christmas? Probably not. If they are bothered enough to complain about it, then I will happily relay my typical daily schedule to them and see if they have any recommendations on how I might better organize myself in order to please them.
Tonight I am hoping that my daughter has no homework, so that she and I can take mugs of hot chocolate to the table and address the cards, then wrap gifts together. I think we could use that.
oooo, liquor filled chocolates! World Market. I've never had them but they are packaged so nicely. Very pretty.
luv, "hand write the stupid things"??? Don't you mean beautifully hand-done calligraphy gilded with 18k gold leaf. lmao
I was a nut yesterday. I was smack in the middle of another medical emergency yesterday and the biggest worry on my mind was that if I was admitted into the hospital, who would mail my Chirstmas cards? I've been on bed rest (eww) all week so the cards were done except for the stamps. But before I would leave for the hospital last night, I got the stamps out and stamped the envelopes. Once I got the stack done, I stood there and cried because I put the stamps on upside down and now everyone would think I didn't care about them because the stamps are upside down.
I'm sure nobody will even notice the stamps and I didn't have to be admitted anyway. Whew.

Ooooo, I like the "missing" controller idea......... then my daughter and I could sneak them out and play during our brief moments of downtime.
d, just read your Random Thoughts column. Were you and I psychically linked this morning? I was thinking the same things while I drove to work after dropping off my daughter at school which was preceded by a load of laundry, cleaning the kitchen, and hunting for but never finding the address labels for the box of Christmas cards I had stuffed into my tote so I could maybe work on them during lunch. Now I have to either find time to go buy more labels or just handwrite the stupid envelopes.
Did you find out where the person purchased the liquor filled chocolates? I'd take about 6 of those right now.
d, I'm so sorry. I wish there was a better way too. This won't be easy for you or your family but it will be better in the long run for the dogs. My heart goes out to you.
Luv, I'm leaving out the names to protect the innocent but I can tell you of a similar situation. One person was neglecting their duties thanks to an atari game. One day, the spouse, frustrated beyond belief, took the controller to work. Nothing else, just the controller. The point was effectively made!
Knowing certain men, taking the batteries out of the controllers would be enough since most of them don't know where we keep the extra batteries anyway!!!!
