Thanks for the kind words, ladies. I sent MIL back a note gently letting her know that I couldn't do anything at this time due to kids' activities, work and impending surgery. She must have finally kicked into her mind and I got a note back with offer to help post surgery.
Saw Doc this morning: There are actually 2 objects-a large stone and a smaller polyp. I can wait 3 months but no longer due to the increased risk of the polyp/stone combo becoming something much more serious. She told me 2 weeks recuperation and mentioned the issues you describe, d. It's a big relief to finally get all the details and to have a little leeway as to when the surgery will occur. Told hubby that if they keep removing things from my insides I'm going to be hollow!
A good meltdown can be very therapeutic. If you're going with tequila, I suggest Jose Cuervo Tradicionale on the rocks - very smooth, creeps up on you. The next day you'll wake up feeling like you're swimming up from the bottom of the ocean but it's totally worth it!
Sorry about your health issues. I hope it's all going to be OK.

Hmmm-just say no comes to mind LUV--I mean come on! Hang in there. Is the gall bladder about to be yanked? If so it isn't bad surgery--in fact you're in and out in about 4 hours (which is weird and they should just send you the knife with directions to save you the car ride). But there will be reduced activity for a few days and don't stray far from a bathroom after that. That gall bladder does some serious digestion work and when it's gone...phew.
Good luck!!

Okay, hand over the bottle of tequila and a box of Kleenex-emotional meltdown coming on now.
Found out yesterday that what they thought was a large gallstone isn't and I need surgery. Family has so much going on and work is really busy. I was doing really well holding it all together until just now when my mother-in-law sends me an e-mail wanting to know if and when I can update the big photo album from their 50th anniv. I e-mailed her last week about the health issues and impending tests and the numerous upcoming activities for the kids-no mention. Just how nice the weather is in sunny Florida and the photo album. I SO don't care!
