The lower I keep my weight, the less stress and strain it puts on my damaged veins.... Otherwise, I would not even care!!!
Being the rebellious creature that I am, I instantly gained 10 pounds after my doctor gave me that tidbit of advice. OK, not "instantly" but gradually since the holidays. So, now I have to drop it. Grrrr It's so much funner to gain it.

Okay CC-- "knowing" you I cannot FATHOM why you're on a diet. I mean really. I hear my #1 son say he needed to lose weight. I realize how off message I am.
So I had the "no sexting" talk with Shorty and his girlfriend last night. They both said that they'd just discussed it with their advisers in study hall. I'm glad to know that the school is taking a proactive stance and isn't afraid to address such topics.
How you can tell I'm on a diet: Yesterday my "snack" was four triskits with 1 tbs peanut butter. Since I'm at school all day I made them up ahead of time and put them in a ziploc. After eating the snack, I actually turned the ziploc back inside out and licked the last traces of peanut butter off the bag! I hope nobody saw me do that!

Be careful out there, LUV. The weather all around us is crazy right now!
Isn't it great how some things fall into place?!?! I hope hubby ate his humble pie with a smile on his face! There's an interesting article about 'sexting' in People this week. Good kids, good families, not prior trouble, being arrested for possession of or trafficking child pornography. Turns out the messages and pix they take and share fall under that legal category. One silly, thoughtless forward of a msg or pix can brand a good kid for life. It's worth sharing the news with our kids.
I agree with you about texting though. Now that I share Shorty through joint custody, that's sometimes the only way I can communicate with him. It shows an interesting, new perspective of his personality and is really pretty fun. Now his dad does it to when Shorty's with me. It helps him stay close to both parents all the time!

I like the parent taught option idea! Wish we had that. It's pretty pricey to use the driving school. I'm sure lots of parents can't afford that, especially these days.
Got a great "moment" last night. When my son does something my hubby always seems to unspokenly lay the blame on me. Well, last night we had a cell phone usage issue and hubby started the blame game claiming that sonny boy is up in his room texting away for hours at a time. I said, "When he's home with me after school, he's downstairs WITH ME, not in his room. So it's not happening then." I then asked if there was an option to see when the transactions occurred on his account. Hubby whips through the website and pulls up the applicable pages and well, what do you know, sonny boy was doing his mad texting while home this week on spring break WITH HIS FATHER!! Nothing more needed to be said. I think it's time for me to take over the phone situation and leave hubby out of it. He refuses to get that texting is how kids nowadays communicate. We may not like it, but it's reality.
Alabama sounded like a nice place to be. I have noticed that with the recent rains the grass has really "greened up". Now they are predicting snow for Saturday and we're heading to northwest Iowa this afternoon. Smart, huh?
