Summer has been waaaaaay too hot and dry. I'm sick of watering and watering just to keep my poor plants alive. We gave up on the backyard and just let it go dormant. It's crunchy.
Just got back from Disney World. Some of my friends laughed when I said we were going to Florida in late July, but I got the last laugh when it turned out it was cooler there than here in Iowa! It was tough coming back to work yesterday. By 1:00 I was ready for my afternoon nap and trip to a waterpark!
Been busy preparing for registration. We are getting lots of new families so we want to make sure we have a presence at registration so we can make them feel welcome. We have even volunteered to give building tours to the new families--a captive audience!!! Principal came up with that idea-love her!
I suppose I'd better finish my signs and informational posters. Cheers!!!!
I have had a great summer wish it wasn't almost over but oh well.
I am busy typing and printing away tonight for tomorrow is registration and PTO Pres has to be wide eyed and bushy tail and ready tomorrow. (haha) haven't woke up early once this summer and hope i can tomorrow.
I just want to say Thank you to all that post and either answer my questions or someone elses and it helps me too. Love this site.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I sure missed this place.
Life has brought a lot of changes this past few months. Mostly good, but life sure is different now. I'm now a single mom of 3 and learning to adjust i.e., same bills, half the income. Well, life goes on and change is always in the air!
I second that salute and I brought homeade vanilla ice cream.
What have you all been doing? I had surgery and took a few day trips with my kids before it got too hot here. I'm getting stuff ready for enrollment Thursday before I start another semester as a full-time mom, full-time PTO parent, and full-time college student.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
