Oh mykidsmom, I can so relate. It's been a hectic past few months for both of us filled not only with the activities of our children and ourselves but also with stresses at work and with the PTO. Even when we've been home together our minds have been on all the problems we needed to fix. Now that the school year is winding down and the PTO issues resolved and work is easing up some for both of us, it's been so nice to just curl up together on the couch after the kids go to bed and just talk about happy things like our kids and going out to dinner.

It's really made me even more sure that next year I'm staying away from the "political" parts of PTO and focusing on being just a great volunteer and school supporter. I need the break and so does my family.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

So the other night this guy walks into the house and flops off his shoes and goes into the kitchen and begins to build this dagwood of a sandwich. HE wasn't very amuzed when I told him my husband would be home soon and he needed to hurry up. Well, I thought it was funny! I hadn't seen my hubby for more than two hours at a time for three weeks because of this crazy schedual and then they replaced all the carpet in the store so he had to be there for that, too.
I had plenty to do with PTO, Easter Egg Hunt at church (my guilty pleasure volunteer job!)and you know, 5 kids, stupid dog (mine likes to "eat" stuffed toys) and everyday yuck.

Just would like it to be June...soon.

Renee, I will pour both of us a drink! I am building up to our Carnival at the end of the month, a candle sale, and a principal that is totally clueless as to how to deal with teachers, parents, or students. At home, I'm getting reports done, working towards finals/graduation, getting ready to move, kids that are stir crazy because the weather is nice, and a guinea pig with conjunctivitis. Oh, and I really messed up my ankle when I put it in a crack at the zoo today. Better yet, I will share a pitcher of drinks with you, it might ease the pain and swelling!

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Pour me a drink! Bookfair & Family Fun Night are over, yeah!!!! :D I had a better turn out than I thought I would, so much so, that the body heat(that's what the custodian said) from everyone set off the smoke detectors at the school. Well, everyone will be talking about FFN for a long time. Everyone seemed to have a great time. I guess I accomplished what I set out to do...Everyone having fun.
[My sec. who thought I was too organized for pto meetings, said that the event was very well organized & thanked me for doing it.] Go figure!
I'll be recovering for the next few days.
Happy Spring!

Thank goodness there are only two more months left in this school year! I've decided to just be a reliable volunteer next year and get out of the exec board business. We've had some great things this year, but we've also had some real pain in the neck, stress levels running at the max stuff too. I've got a knot in the muscles in my back that is absolutely excrutiating. I know it's stress. I want to scream "Why can't we all just get along!!!!!"

Somebody pour me a shot of tequila!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I'm a tea drinker but some days I'm tempted to add a little something in it. I'm in the tip of the mitt in Michigan. Too cold for swimming. The ice will probably be out by May 1. I hope. My youngest turned 4 in Feb. My oldest just 14 in Jan. My others are 12,10 & 8. (did I mention they're all boys) Boy,oh,boy do they fight. We just plan on basketball, movies, friends over... no matter what they still fight. Oh, well, I guess that's why I color my hair.
