Wow, I leave for a few months and all the hubby's get pounded on.. :D

We've finally painted, moved and are still waiting for kitchen cabints and correct finish fixtures and fuactes (chrome and brushed nickel are NOT the same... and I'm a guy)
I never want to see a can of paint again (or buy it- 'cuz it went on sale with a big fripping rebate 2 days after)

PTA is biting the dust- we moved and the whole board plus the super involved are moving upto middle school.

Hope you all had a great spring break..
Hope to be up posting soon on a regular basis

I'll raise my glass to that. My hubby says the samething. He gets frustrated that I have no help in planning & organizing things...like he doesn't offer either. HA! I still have quite a few yrs. left for pto-ing.

Sometimes I think spouses forget that we're doing this to make our children's lives better not for the glory. I know mine has occasionally commented "Well, can't someone else take care of it?" I'm sure someone else could take care of it and I'd be glad to let them do it if I could just find that someone.

I'm just ready for a break from the intensity of being on the executive board for all these many years. It will be my last year at the school and I'd like to have fun and just be available for advising purposes to the new executive board members.

It would also mean that I can come here to our beautiful virtual bar and truly enjoy my margarita instead of gulping it down to calm my rattled nerves!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I am actually looking forward to next year. We have a new director and he is actually making us BE a PTO ! Before we were just there to be a piggy bank for everyone but this year alone he is asking were are the people and were did they go!! Lots of work ahead of me but for a change I know I have his support.

Now if I could just get the hubby to see this is a good thing......hhhmmmmmm

Z-brick--my mom put that in part of her kitchen years ago. Then you're stuck with it for eternity because if you try to pull it off it rips the drywall.

You're right about the lawn thing. I don't think I could bear to live in an area where I couldn't have grass and all my flowers. I barely survive the brown of winter without going crazy. Thank goodness for houseplants!

We have nominations this week and I'm almost giddy with the thought of not being an officer next year! My family is ready for the break and so am I. My biggest fear was having no one step up to take the leadership role, but a lovely woman has agreed to put herself out there, so I am going to sit back and let some others take over.

OMGH I said te same thine when my hubby complained about the paint I choose for the kitchen!! The he put z-brick (those flat peices of bricks) on the walls in the basement --hundreds of dollars to drywall then to recover it with bricks....genius.

Anyway, I wish I had a green lawn...aww Luv, I'm sure you understand how hard it would be to live in a desert climate after growing up in Iowa! There is something to love about the green green grass of home! But I have irises that need to be separated...again!
