43--let's see-oh yes--my hair was browner, my chest was higher, my energy was stronger and my bank account was smaller. I guess things are all relative :).

Happy birthday to you cc...d

Well, hello everyone!! Aaah, 43 I passed that mark a couple years ago. Happy Birthday, CC!

6th graders-scary! My son just finished 6th and daughter will be heading to high school next year. Let me tell you, girls are worse than boys for the moody, nasty stuff. WOW!!! Everyone once in awhile they will revert back to loving you though. Last night my son and I were both heading upstairs to brush our teeth at the same time and he was actually holding my hand as we went up!

How fundraising companies get your phone? School staff that give it out. Usually it was no big deal, but one time they gave it to a parent who was quite a pain(she deceived them). From that point on, they didn't give it to anyone, but called me themselves or gave me the message when I picked up the kids. Big tip for PTO Presidents: become friendly with the office staff! They did things for me I know they didn't do for anyone else.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY CC !!!!! I'm right behind you...43 in about 3 months. Where has the time gone???? And where did all this gray hair come from. ha ha Glad you had a good day with the exception of BURNING UP at the ball game. But, I imagine it was worth it to spend the day with your kid.

Could someone please explain to me what has happened to my children !!!! How can they change so much just by going from 5th grade to 6th???? Is there something in middle school buildings that makes them decide THEY are the boss and all of a sudden mom is an idiot?? ha ha

Hope everyone stays cool !!!!!

I'm still here. Everyone slide up a chair and share some birthday cake with me ~ yellow cake with Chocolate icing ~ because I'm 43 years old today! :D

Hey LT, welcome!!! I'm blessed with one amazing son who's 14 going on 34. He's the best. Whenever I get overwhelmed with the teenage hormones I try to remember my own harrowing teen years. It's getting more difficult these days as, well, I'm 43 now.... but seriously..... If we can all take a breath and think back to middle/high school and all of the angst we felt, it shines a light on what our kids are dealing with.

d ~ I agree, Disney is pricey but worth it. We've been twice and it was a different experience each time simply because of Shorty's age and what interested him at the time. My advice to anyone planning a visit would depend on the age of their kids and the time of year they're going.

Best birthday EVER today! Shorty surprised me with two photo frames ~ one filled with pictures of us from his awards night and another from 8th grade graduation night. Blueberry pancakes for breakfast.... Mmmmmm Some how my friend found Blueberry Crumble flavored coffee beans. Wow, was that great coffee. Then we were off to Atlanta for the Braves/Phillies game. It was my first ever MLB game. Oooo, and it was 102 degrees in Atlanta today. No kidding. Shorty knocked himself out picking great seats behind 3rd base ~ which turned out to be, literally, the hottest seats in the place. We made it through the 3rd inning then had to leave. We went to Hard Rock for dinner then back home to A'ville. And sometime in the afternoon I spent an hour on the phone with my twin brother. He calls me every single year to sing "You know it's your Birthday. Yeah, it's my birthday too...." It's corny but I'd die if he ever missed a year!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

Hmmm God children--wonder where they came from :)....of course we all know.

I have heard that the hardest part about the GS thing is the parents but perhaps those weren't the hormonal ladies you discussed.

Where DO they get those numbers?...Perhaps Luv knows...or CC... are you still with us ladies?

CC did the WDisney World thing. Have you gone? Ihought the expense was huge__but NOW i GET IT and would recommend the cost to others..
with some advice (oh no...you say..not advice from d) but really you learn stuff you know :).

Thanks d for the warm welcome. I think life is more than the PTO-wait a minute I have a call from the principal :)

Actually I am amusing myself since I received a phone call last week @ 6:30 something from a marketing rep. for an embroidery company congratulating me ON MY HOME PHONE for being PTO President. You could only imagine the conversation from there!

So you have 4 and a strong liver! I have 2 that keep me busy and 3 others during school (2 stay some weeks in the summer since they are my god children). I have a Girl Scout Troop of 16 hormonal wonderful ladies, the PTO and I give pro bono business and marketing counsel on the side. My liver is fine but I think their is something wrong with my brain-memory lapse.

Ladies-you will have to excuse my delay in responding-the computer time is a luxury.

Nice chatting with you
