Thanks, everyone, for your kind words. Today was day 7 and our 2nd trip to the ER - a different ER this time. Lots of waiting, lots of tests, no anwsers and still no better. He has an appointment tomorrow morning with an infectious diseases specialist. Here's an interesting thing to know. If you show up at the ER with a high fever, a myserious rash and a recent trip to a third world country, you get pretty speedy service!

d - those drinks sound yummy!

T - you're a better woman than me. You're a blessing to your daughters by maintaining a positive relationship with the ex. You should be proud.

Weather here is balmy, weirdly tropical. Even the grass is starting to green up and it feels more like late spring than early winter. But I'm not letting that spoil my holiday spirit. I'm sitting here in my candy cane jammies right now!

It's time for hubby's 10pm dose. Then, hopefully, we'll get three whole hours of sleep before the 1am dose.

Scott-i love to do that too, let the kids pick I men. i will cook a frozen pizza or do sandwiches and then we will make homemade cookies. my husband thinks it crazy. oh well.

it isn't a christmas drink but frozen peach daquiri's are my thing lately. I made a pitcher the other day and stuck it in the freezer. It sure puts the fun back into untangling the lights.

it doesn't help when you are studying for finals though.

Not to get all political or anything, but did you know that the Iraqi president canceled his meeting today with W. W flies all the way there and this man cancels! Apparently he has forgotten that our troops are in his front yard and without them his a** wouldn't be president.

Mmmmm--2 actually--German Gluewhein which is red wine (like burgandy) that you sweeten with sugar and add fruit to (like oranges) and cloves and cinnomin (spelling)...then you warm it till you have to put it into a coffee cup and drink it slowly...it'll warm you inside and out...

And the other is just plain ole apple juice that you warm in a crock pot and add as much amerretto to so that gets it to the desired mix for you. Some add half a big bottle--some add all....to a gallon of cider.

Both are wonderfully warm winter drinks best served when driving is not an option!

You would not believe the weather here! The high yesterday was 73 and today it was 30. There's been ice and snow coming down since lunchtime.
Religous ed was cancelled tonight so we're watching Superman with the surround sound on. We had frozen dinners, cheese and crackers, and homemade deep dish brownies with ice cream and syrup. What can I say, when I'm lazy I let the kids choose dinner. I need to come up with a good winter drink other than Irish coffee or cinnamon tea and JD, any suggestions?

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Hi All,

Back from the TN reunion, dinner with the ex & girlfriend  , holiday travel and catching up at school!

The reunion was fun. Unfortunately, it was left up to a bunch of boys to plan.....their idea of decoorating was a candle per table with white paper tableclothes! But other than that, had a blast catching up and gossiping with friends.

CC - I read about hubby. So sorry to hear that. I hope he mends quickly!

Know what I just realized.....we only have 26  , 26! days till Christmas. Unreal.

Spiked eggnog and fudge anyone?
