Greetings all!!! Sounds like everyone had a great holiday. We visited both sets of grandparents(dinner with mine), shopped, and did some Christmas decorating. It was a nice 5 days with my family. Got a nice confirmation that I'm doing some good parenting. My nieces are so rude. One barely speaks and the other filled her plate and began eating before the rest of us even sat down. My sister did the same, so I guess I know where she learned it. Meanwhile my children are passing things and putting things on others' plates so they don't have to wait for the passing. I would really like to be close to my sister, but we are worlds apart in so many ways.

We had amazing weather! Warm, sunny-so weird for November. Snow coming Friday though!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

A fun holiday recipe..... ;) ~CC

Fruitcake Recipe

Ingredients:
*One cup water
*One cup sugar
*Four large eggs
*Two cups of dried fruit
*One teaspoon baking soda
*One teaspoon salt
*One cup brown sugar
*Lemon juice
*Nuts
*One bottle whisky

Sample the whisky to check for quality. Take a large bowl. Check the whisky again. To be sure it is the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.

Repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again.

Make sure the whisky is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer.
Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers pry it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the whisky to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whisky.

Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.

Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Throw the bowl out of the window, check the whisky again, and go to bed.

AHHHHH a new baby AHHHHH....actually as I was at the end of nursing little boy number 4 I said to hubby--It wouldn't be so bad to have a 5th baby. Within 2 weeks he was in getting the "v" device so I wouldn't be able to convince him ....d

ScottMom - I think the term you're looking for is 'random blinking'. ;) You're too funny!!! Disorganized - OMGh! I'm ROFLMAO!! I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your family. What a blessing it is to be able to spend time with people we love.

It's quiet in my house too but I don't dare make a sound as hubby is finally sleeping for the first time in four days. The last time he had the flu was nine years ago. Here's the thing about the flu shot. It only works if you actually get one. My doctor-friend-neighbor gave my son a perscription for tamaflu so I started him on it today. Tomorrow I'll call my own doctor for a flu shot and pray it isn't too late!

d - the last (ok, the only) time I went away for a long weekend with hubby was 14 years ago, just exactly nine months before our son was born.

Thanks to the weekend illnesses, the holiday decorating didn't get done. But tomorrow I'm scrubbing the house from top to bottom with bleach water and then getting the Christmas boxes out. It'll be fun to start decorating tomorrow evening.

I second that nomination!

CC-so sorry to hear about your DH, hope the rest of you don't get it.

D-you are going to have so much fun, have some for me too.

I am really tired after all the time in the car. It was so beautiful here today, in the high 60's and then it's supposed to snow in a few days, go figure. Why is it once you get everyone to bed, you can't sleep because you think of all the things you could be doing without everyone else bugging you? Sadly, the top of my list is trying to get the laundry caught up and remember how to syncronize (sp?) the lights on the tree-yes disorganized blinking makes me nuts!

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
