Hey d! It looks like your girls at Rutgers had a rough week but are handling it with grace and dignity. I'm all for free speech but not to the point where prominent media figures abuse their celebrity and throw out nasty, racial slurs. I don't know anything about girl's basketball but I'm sure these ladies deserve a lot more respect than they've been shown.

Tax week....... ugh I'm going to need all of the chocolate from the Easter baskets.

'Oh Silver--you are bad on so many counts...my guys are just coming "on" Spring Break'
Bad huh ... no just a strong sense of self and knowing I have my limits. Remember to check in with us next Monday when yours are back in school ~! LOL!
Disney ... I am so frustrated with them. I called their cruise line requesting information two years in a row, even requested via website as a back up this year, and I still have nothing! Yes - if anyone has any contacts or tips it would be well appreciated.
Honestly out of frustration I am begining to wonder if we should begin looking at a family vacation via a Sandals resort which will be all inclusive when it comes to food & drink. I know it would give the kids a better understanding of how other children live around the world ... I am thinking of some of those remote places where the resort is the only rich area on the island.

Oh Silver--you are bad on so many counts...my guys are just coming "on" Spring Break and I still had to write the newsletter for this month so they've been very patient with me. We did manage to get to lunch out and then bowl a game (gosh it is so expensive these days to do that). That's the hard part about 6--everything costs so much. We're looking at Disney and cannot find anything for a week less than 5k. If anyone has an "ins" or knows how to get a deal please let me know. I can take the boys to Europe for 5k. Well we wouldn't eat but that's not eating at Disney too!!!!
Okay--one more little part to finish my newsletter and then we're done for the day. Have the crazy urge now to put a fireplace in the pool area vice a fire pit...may have to sell the dogs just to get closer to being able to afford it but if I don't I'll regret it in 5 years I'm sure...!

CC, that's so great that you got to spend some time with your brother. I'll bet he really enjoyed getting away from the base and having some time with family.

It's always so uplifting to see how people in a school or community can rally around each other during a time of crisis. Gives you faith in humanity.

My daughter went with friends to see Meet the Robinsons on its' opening weekend. They really enjoyed it and she said she would even see it again. We rented Happy Feet this weekend, very cute movie. Robin Williams always develops the BEST characters!

Another cookbook recommendation: Martha Wolf's Ivy Bake Shoppe cookbook. It's a local restaurant and every recipe in the book is amazing. I've sampled many of her dishes on my NUMEROUS visits to her restaurants.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Go for the tiramisu. That way you get your sugar and your caffeine all at once!

We went to visit my brother at Ft. Rucker Friday and Saturday. It was so great to see him. I hadn't been to Ft Rucker since 1st grade - 35 years ago! Nothing's changed..... ;) We had to go through so much to get him off base, including proving that our car was registered and insured. He jokingly reminded us that he's government property now and we have to make sure he doesn't get injured in any way. After we drove all the way to Destin, FL he said, "Oh yeah, I"m really not supposed to go more than 50 miles away from base." Oooops He graduates from AIT on Friday.

It was very cool to see how the community in Enterprise, AL rallied around their high school, the students who were killed in the tornado and their families. Lots of cars had a memorial magnet that was a blue & white paw print with the words, "Never Forget - the EHS 8, 03-01-07. People were wearing pins with photos of the lost students. It was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time.

Hot digity dog ~ the kids are back in school and I can put my house back in order! :D Don’t get me wrong … I love having time with my kids (and the various friends they invite over) during the school week but it’s definitely nice to have them back in school this Monday morning. Sent along some sugary teacher treats to welcome them back from the break; can’t think of anyone who needs it more seen as how the kids are most likely all sugared up from Easter candy etc.
Anyone taken their kids to go see the new movie Meet the Robinson’s? We tried to get to the theatre for some down time but it just wasn’t in the cards this weekend. If it’s decent we may make a go of it this weekend.
I know we were all discussing pie for breakfast in previous posts. Well I have my choice of French Silk, Apple or Tiramisu. Hmmmmm … so many decisions!
