HAPPY EASTER, Everyone!

I hope you're all having a great day, that you all got Peeps (yellow chicks here...) and that your plans for the day come off flawlessly. We started the day with Easter Baskets and a breakfast of waffles, sausage, chocolate milk and coffee. Mmmmmmm Shorty is too old for the egg hunt stuff but we're still having fun.

Same back at you Shawn. Well a 9 year old seems to have been able to get my son to do something I haven't in 4 years. This morning we attended sunrise service for church because the pastor's dad asked him to come. Who know it would be that easy. So there he was surrounded by 3 little girls....smart boy I'd say. .
Scott's mom hope the cooking goes as planned. I'm making a marinade spread now out of garlic, basil, rosemary and mint to smear on our leg o lamb for grilling in just a bit. May have to cut up some prime rib for the less adventurous eaters of the family...but that's okay.
Happy Easter and Passover as is celebrated this day and this past week by your family.

My Politically Incorrect Statement of the day

Whether you beleive in the 'Ultimate Sacrafice and Reserection' is irrelevant to me.

Thanks to all who sacrifice their time, money, knowledge, blood, sweat, tears and / or sometimes lives to enhance, prolong, or preserve life, liberty and / or the pursuit of happiness.

I'm gone for a few days and I had to read at least 10 pages to catch up.!!! OMG!! What is it about Spring that means you are too busy to sleep, makes you have baby fever, and want to clean your house all at once?
My middle child turned 8 on the 2nd. It was Good Friday the year he was born and I always tell him the story that all I wanted to eat after he was born was a ham sandwich but I couldn't get one because he was born at a Catholic hospital and all I got was a grilled cheese!
Anyway, I swear when one of my kids has a birthday, I have an itch to have another one!! Makes my husband insane considering it happens 3 times a year. Someone wanted me to have a meeting with them this month and I realized I only have 2 nights in the entire month when I'm not doing a family/church/school activity of some sort. Is anyone else this busy or am I just insane? And now that we have a bigger house, it seems we are ALWAYS having people over. I like to host but not every family event.
I just found out today that we are hosting Easter. So now I get to go back to the store, with the people that put off buying for Easter until last minute, to buy more of everything. After the last holiday, I had to lay down some very specific food requests. I asked for pie, rolls and corn from various relatives of my husband (very important I say that because they think much differently than my family). I got a cheesecake from one and cool whip from another (not any pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving or any pie for the cool whip to go on) and frozen corn that I was expected to prepare, some rolls that needed to be cooked for almost 20 minutes (like I have an over other than the one the turkey was in) and an assortment of pickles and olives (did I mention I didn't ask for these as I already had several relish/finger food trays throughout the house?). All very frustrating as my family is very good at bringing what you ask (already cooked) and usually more, just for good measure. I'm hoping I actually get food we can use and it's already heated or I will lose it.

Silver, there does seem to be a 'meanness' trend. Somewhere along the line, most people realized that it's true that "The squeeky wheel gets the grease". I agree with you that we have it in us to turn things around. Hubby's mantra is, "There's never a reason to be nasty." Purple bracelet or not, I'm going to do my part. I'm still wearing my St. Francis bracelet as a reminder.

I just recently discussed peoples 'meaness' in general with a friend of mine. In general terms there seems to be an epidemic of meaness or grumpy behavior. Right now we think it's just in our area and possibly due to the large swings in weather but comments about other posts here have made me wonder if this larger than anyone realizes. We have resolved to being overly nice to those we notice are mean around us. Kill them with kindness or at least until they comply and begin being nice back!
