Grace C. i know only what youve posted in the last week, it is utterly deplorabale. you cant fix the district or school during your child's educational lifetiem,,,do yourself a favor,do your mental and physical health a favor, and just make plans for a new school next year, charter private or move to another distric taht you know is good...and leave the morass you are in. its not worth it and your kid and you/your family suffer the stress. take it from me, one whom the pto called the police on after a meeting for NO reason. its just a farce, some schools management or lack thereof. and all politics and face saving games. get out. get a good school for your child and save your time too, posting here. your hearts in the right place but i bet your blood pressure is high.
take care. (i used to sign off as RIGHT ON)

Also will check out the law you suggested. Thanks! and I have NOT interrupted the class, but as someone on this site suggested they are bullying me.
I have a call in to the FOIA co-ordinator[the 'freedom of info act' they pronounce foy-yah] of the MI dept of education to see what i can pull from the teacher's and principals records then i will send of my certified letter and see what happens.

Yes , I am asking lots of legit questions and does the science teacher does have a science endorsment but plops them in front of a video with a work sheet.I see that another science teacher in the district just won science educator of the year!!!For hands on SCIENCE!!!!Arghhhhh!!!!Ours is too tired to do science fair or anything else for that matter. This school is in a huge time warp. The district news letter came today with all kinds of info and on the front page is a picture of kids playing the recorder from another school. Our music shows have been an embarrassment;the music teacher was yelling at the kids after one show and they taped it and kept replaying it on the local cable tv! I can't figure out why she is still there. I am going to make them work...if nothing happens,I'm still leaving but they will know i am watching!!

According to the Title 1 Law you are allowed to ask for the qualifications of a teacher in your school. 45 days after school starts you should have been notified of a teacher not being certified to teach in a specific area. You are allowed to ask questions in regard to curriculum in your school. Ask what the state standards are in your state and then ask what you can do if they are not being followed. It is true that if you are interrupting a class that a parent can be asked to leave the building. Is the science teacher certified? Is she teaching real world experience? Check out the No Child Left Behind law part 1118. Hope that helps and best wishes for a fruitful outcome.
