Are you medium or well done???
The state says she's qualified, but i see something else! I see teachers[aw, the power of the computer] all around with this special music endorsment and i know it stinks.
She is not really specialized in educating in music,is how i see it!!!Will let parents know this too!!

I want the same thing the district offers at it's other schools!!!I see the music shows on the local cable district channel and our stuff stinks in comparison or is non existent.

if your staff complaints are of the nature of their qualifications, seems to me you have cause to file a complaint with your state dept of education. and let THEM do the due diligence and searching of records. why should YOU do that?? youre a tax payer, teh state dept works for YOU. or, tehy should.

Our kids' school is nothing like that! There are more exciting things [academic and social]going on in other schools in the this same district!!!That is probably what will happen with us,is move or put in for the brand new school they are just building, but I won't go until i make the hugest pain out of myself EVER!!! The next 1/4 west disctrict is the best , i hear so we might head that -a -way!!! going for a walk. later.

i believe some admins prefer to stonewall troublesome parents til they get so fed up and LEAVE/pull their kid out of school and go private or move.
the admin holds many cards, they know the rules, teh loopholes, the game. they have tenure. it is hard hard to fight a tenured staff. and they know it.
so the parents , those are not well liked, are treated in such a manner as is 'legal' but maybe not what one might consider appropriate or expected of a civil servant.....but i will not be intimidated or put off. i follow my conscience and bring matters to the awareness of staff and other parents because i must advocate for the kids who cannot do so for themselves yet. (K-5 is my school)after all, why become a parent at all if you arent willing to stand up for their rights and try to make the school better one's own, and for ALL kids???????
thats what its about, school is for the kids, and not parent/staff/pto politics.sometimes i think this gets forgotten.

by being 'in public ed for 3 years', i mean a parent of public shcool kids for the last 3 years. my background is NOT educaiton, my mother always told me to go to law school and mothers are always RIGHT!
anyway, seriously though, the questions i asked our PTO were questions they refused to answer, and why they refused to answer them, is currently a matter which is ongoing so in the interest of my own self until things are resolved, i will keep those questions off the blog. lets jsut say, when an innocent and valid question is posed, and an answer is not forthcoming but instead helps pave the way for that member to be kicked out of the club/PTO, i say that is behaviour worthy of getting the quesiton answered!
and, i wonder if your school must pass each certificated (teacher and admin) staff thru act 34 and 154 (i think thats the right number) the 34 is criminal bckgrd check and the other is child abuse IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN with the latter number. it is good policy, i understand some public schools even in MI require these checks even of parent volunteers (also TB checks too) FOR THE SAFETY OF THE KIDS..some MI schools my friends rave about.....moms cant even bring in home baked goods for class parties,,everything catered thru the cafeteria, once again, for the welfare of the KIDS. i am impressed with this one school i MI......it doesnt sound like your kid/s go there!!
