I am in charge of the Silent Auction held by my church (and I work with my child's school for their fall Silent Auction) I know hotels are hard to get donation request from and a lot are a hit or miss (mostly miss) but I wanted to know if anyone had success with getting hotels in the following states, Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, New York and then Washington DC. If you had success in any of the above states please share what hotels you were able to get a donation from. I am trying to put together vacation packages in those states and I have attractions and/or restaurants and I just need hotel accommodations to go with them. Thank you in advance for your help. This website is awesome by the way!
Hello everyone! I am very very new at this. Elected this year. Are the companies you have listed just for your state? If anyone has any info for Baltimore, MD, I would appreciate. Thanks so much! In the meantime I'll be browsing this site.
Love this group....have gotten lots from lists. Will type my yes/no list soon. Was wondering if anyone had luck w any hotels in Chicago. Trying to put a basket together w overnight stay and museums. Also our event is in Madison Wisconsin area..Any suggestions?
Woohoo! Just received 4 One Day Park Hopper passes from Disney! The whole process took us about a month, but really it was just a lot of waiting time between submitting the request and it being reviewed. Once it was reviewed we were given an answer within 24 hours! We're so very excited about this.
Now the real question is this: has anyone gotten airline tickets or hotel stays as a donation? If so, how?
And, which hotels would be best to try that are near Disney? We don't want to send anyone to a sketchy area, especially with kids..
I've had a number of school (and Parish) clients use a consignment package as a raffle at their auctions. Some select the trip based on their theme (e.g. Paris ... Napa). The more organized teams start selling tickets months in advance of the event.
They've had good success with the outcome. The winners have enjoyed the trips and the activity makes money. It's not without effort, of course to clear the baseline so that you can start making profit. It's marketing and sales ...
