Hi All,

Back from vacation. I swear it takes me an entire year to forget how grueling the drive is (13 hrs, one way with just me driving! Usually do it in one day though. ) We added an extra leg to the trip - down to New Orleans. It's absoutly disgracesful and distressing how damaged that place still is! Whole shopping center, subdivisions are deserted and/or abandoned. even parts of the bridges guard rials are missing from where the lake and hurricane damaged them! I have to admit - haven't been so happy to leave a place since I went visit family in a small MO town (WOW!)

Glad to be home though, it's now time to gear all 3 of us up for school. I could use any insight from any veteran middle school parents. I'm now entering new territory - oldest is becoming a 6th grader! :)

Very funny ona---and yes it is hot hot hot....I was almost panicy when the boards went down. I need to cut and paste some of my slogan posts so I don't lose them all if the gremlins hit these boards.

Tim's sitter page looks very good. We had a nanny for a while and finding a good nanny agency was the most important step in the process (and almost just as expensive). I'm looking to head back to work, well paid work, and that may be the best resource I've seen...

Officially back from vacation............

Need to go back on vacation............:p

Saturday - Left for Myrtle Beach at 7:30 PM and drove 13 1/2 hours, got lost twice. Arrived at hotel at 10 AM!! Hang out on beach / by pool until room's ready. LOVE vacation!

Monday - Play until meeting at 2 (we were actually putting my work and vacation together, lucky hubby - not so lucky me) Vacation so-so.
Tuesday - Meeting until 2:30 where I look around at everyone and think, "I see your mouth moving but all I hear is blah, blah, blah." Vacation?
Wednesday - Meeting until 11:30. NOW, I'm free! (Oldest daughter's birthday) Finally, I get to "officially" be on vacation!
Thursday - Drive 7 hours to aunt's in VA.
Friday - Hang out on boat all day - LOVE vacation!
Saturday - See all the cousins. Huge picnic. More boat. LOVE vacation!
Sunday - Drive home, a.k.a., Game Over

I just skimmed through the pages but it looks like everyone is doing well here. Everyone gearing up for the new school year? Our kids don't start back until the Wed. after Labor Day. I missed you all, I'll be back to catch up some more!

Ohhh doggies is it HOT today! Everyone get out the Margaritas, chips and dip ... time to take the afternoon off and keep cool by the pool (even if it's a little wading pool because the real pool isn't done yet ~ :( ).

I'm surprised that more women don't consider how important they are as leaders at home...maybe they do but honestly sometimes I watch how folks allow their children to speak to them and I'm shocked that they don't demand more respect. I always thought a great book would be one that focused on mom's and leadership and promoting the development of those skills.
Hubby had to fly to his dad this weekend. His dad's wife had an aneurysm...never good and it is all touch and go right now.
There's so much stuff in recall right now...and then to here that aquafina is tap water...hahahaha. You gotta laugh....d

Society is still full o' dopes that dont relaize women as leaders.. that why I didnt go into teaching but have a Music Ed degree - 1st kid that popped off like I see to the parents'd be backhanded. Glad to see all bottled tap water is getting a new label (I've been arguing for years that its just overpriced tapwater with some vitamins and minerals thrown in a pretty plastic bottle)

Oh when will the world wake up and take heed to what I say.
