Oh gosh we've had the stomach thing and still do (MD and VA). I think it must be just here cause my sis in NJ isn't seeing it there to. But with 4 children it just lingers forever and you can't seem to get out of the house (that's not fair--you know dragging 1 so the other 3 can do something)...but it is making me CRAZY. I basically just paper the whole house so no matter where someone loses it I can clean it quickly. YUKKKKKKKKKK.... I realized I was a seasoned mom though when we went through a drive through, one got sick and I was able to finish my own sandwich....that's really too bad isn't it?
Ah the great lessons of motherhood!!!

That cherry limeade sounds really good! I'm going to go home and make some homemade lemonade and drink the whole pitcher myself-well, actually that won't happen because the kids will be standing there drooling while I make it.
Oh yeah, I won't get my lemonade until we make a trip to the Humane Society shelter. A mama cat and her two half grown kittens showed up this past weekend and along with the neighbors we've been trying to get hold of them. We think somebody dumped them because the mother is quite friendly but we don't want to just grab her because she has hidden the kittens. The kids called to say they "captured" one of the kittens this afternoon. We can't keep it at our house due to allergies and the neighbor already has two cats, so we're hoping it will get adopted. Anyone interested in a calico kitten? How about a black and white long hair or the black long hair mother? Of course, we have to catch them first.
I haven't heard of any stomach stuff going on around here. Must not have reached Iowa yet. Let's send it out to the ocean instead of across the USA!
I'm going to add to the heat complaints. I'd never would have belived it - but it's to hot to even go to the pool! The water is just down right tepid (think bath water - ugh!) and getting there (even though it's just a short walk down a hill and up another)
Ok - how many others are being slammed with this stomach bug. My house has been hit not once, or even twice - we are on round 4!!!! What the.......? My poor oldest has now had it twice. Thank goodness it's as fast as it is violent. But gotta tell you - getting a tad tired of the barfing.
Sigh - wish there was a Sonic around. Since our TN trip I'm completely addicted to their limeaids - cherry limeaide with LOTS of crushed ice.

I know what you're talking about with the flowers, Silver. Even though I put heat/drought tolerant plants in the pots on the patio and deck, they are still showing the stress. We're supposed to be in the 90's all week with heat index in the 100's. Yesterday our heat index at 6:00 was 105. It was miserable. The weather service issued heat warnings for our area this morning. They are supposed to go through Friday. My kids who are usually nuts about being outside even stayed in yesterday afternoon!
