Hey d, glad to hear it all went well and you're feeling good!

See now, my hubby found every reason to NOT be around when I was recuperating. He has a real phobia about being around sick people. Don't get me wrong, he cleaned up the house and did some cooking and all those kinds of things, but just sitting home watching me heal was not his thing. It was funny riding in the car with him during the healing time though, because he would either dodge or slow way down when we came to any bumps because he knew they hurt. I never said anything, but he must have seen me flinch a few times or something.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Gotta decorate this weekend. Last weekend seemed to early and now I feel "late". GB surgery went fine. I don't know why they don't just send you a dull knife and at home directions though. I was only in there for 3.5 hours and they basically sent me home with no gall bladder and 4 stab wounds (oh and a lot of pretty little pills). Hubby has stayed home this week (as much for him I think). I told him today I thought he had "anal glacoma". He said "what"...I said "you just can't see your a@# going into work can you? "
So am feeling the best today so far. Not bad for less that 72 hours of "surgery to recovery time". When they were wheeling me in one of the ladies asked the doc how she was and she said "I'm not having a great day"...OH NO I yelled from the gurney--'find a happy place right now young lady'....I'm here for the breast implants and tummy tuck...Looks like I didn't get either..

The GB tore on the way out and a stone dropped in there. Doc didn't seem too concerned so I'm not sure what to think now. Sticks and stones you know.

Okay people -- go find your happy place.

Our dinner and a movie is tonight and I'm strangely excited about it all happening without me :). Sign of a great team...

Hey Silver! I got through a bit more of my decorating last night and plan to make every effort to finish it tonight. We're supposed to have cruddy weather this weekend, so your family's cookie baking party sounds like something I might do with the kids. Mine are both in middle school, so they have a bit more self control with the sugar and sprinkles, but not much!

Sending best wishes out to d and hoping the gallbladder surgery went well!

... becasue we all need a little bump sometimes ...

Hi All! It has been a while and you are all right ... the holidays seem to take more than they give up until right before the big 'day'. Thanksgiving was great ... leached off of my SIL's family. The only regret is not having leftovers so I made a small Turkey dinner Saturday.
I am currently staring down my Chirstmas decor' also. I think I am going to keep it simple and classic. St. Nick is around the corner so all everyone is gathering at Grandma's to bake & decorate cookies this upcoming weekend. I doubt they will last until Christmas night but it's fun to all get together and have a family cookie decorating party ... the little ones are such a blast to watch. I think mine alone can go through a whole container of colored sugar per cookie.
Well off I go to do some much needed cleaning ... and staring down of those decoration boxes.

Hey pzettler, if you have boxes of varying sizes, maybe you could stack them in a sort of pyramid shape to resemble a tree, then string some lights and you'd be good to go!! I know I am really looking at each thing I have and some are going "bye-bye". My hubby told me the real trick will be to not replace those things with others. Yeah right!

I wonder if I could get away with decorating the big storage box with the lights and not have to put them on the tree. I think the boxes decorate my house longer than the tree about this time of year.
