Tiner68, I'm sorry that you didn't make it camping, but I'm also glad that you didn't. It was COLD here, even though we are in a well insulated house with heat, I can't imagine what it would have been like in a tent. We were down in the low 20s and I know that Salt Springs has a tendency to be colder.
Hope you and your family are feeling better and can enjoy the holidays!
Thanks for the thoughts but we never made it camping. I am just getting over being sick as a dog. Some kind of virus has run rampade thru my family so we didn't get to go. I guess we'll just have to have a party for Christmas Eve. It's finally warming up some-I can wear shorts today but it is suppose to rain and they possibly snow!!! Can you believe it? SNOW!!!! for Christmas! Yipee!!! It doesn't often in FL so when it does we all go out and play and call everyone we know on the phone to come play too. Hope every one has a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you may celebrate) and a happy new year.
Actually pepermint schapps will keep one alot warmer! I lived in a college town before I married and that was THE only way to stay warm during those freezing football games!
Crips! Hurricanes and now freezing temps! Come up North to Colorado! Was in the mid 50's! I'm also about 45-60 minutes from the mountains.
My idea of camping is a hotel without room service!
Maybe she's the one that needs the JD...that's a GREAT way to keep nice and toasty. Personally, I HATE camping, and have only been once or twice, before the children came along. We brought several cases of beer, and that's how I made it through the weekend. God bless anyone who loves all of that work!I'm more of a makeup/manicuring type of gal myself...I'll take the spa treatment over the great outdoors any day of the week. I've forced myself to go with the children this past summer (sans alcohol)...ooooh what a hoot. My husband was in stitches the entire weekend. We actually saw several snakes, and one of them was a water moccasin...I'm an athlete, and let me say that I've NEVER moved so quick! Needless to say, we're skipping the fun this summer, and just staying at the beachhouse.
Tiner68, I know that you're on vacation, but my thoughts are with you. I just heard that we are expected to go down to the low 20s tonight and possible snow dusting. YES, sometimes it does happen in FL.
If I could ask everyone to please keep her in your thoughts, as she is camping.
My MIL(bless her heart, she passed away about 3 yrs. ago.) would start sipping when she was cooking for the holidays. By the end of dinner, which usually lasted a couple of hours, she needed to take a nap because "she was tired". But we all knew the truth. 3 times a year didn't seem so bad. The food was great and the conversations, old stories are memories that still make us laugh.
