Hi Closetwriter, not really sure what land is going for these days. I do know it would be cheaper in the Kalkaska/Mancelona area vs. Traverse City. If you are interested I can give you the number of a good realtor here. She's very trustworthy. There are quite a few nice properties available at all times. This is a big county so where you are depends on how far from Meijer. There is one on the west side of Traverse City and also one in Cadillac, about 45 minutes from me. But the good news is there is supposed to be a new store opening about 15 miles from me, on M-72, going into Traverse City. YEEHAWW!!!
We're serving everything...throwing all good nutrition aside (of course)...buffalo wings, sausage and peppers, meatballs and sauce, taco dip, reuben dip, no-holds barred Superbowl fun! You guys can stop by, if you're in the area! I love the commercials as well...but I have to say that I'm a HUGE football fanatic, so I'll be concentrating on the game! Have a great weekend!
Where are the Meijer's stores? I've never heard of them here on the East Coast, in good ol' Jersey. I only shop at Wegman's supermarkets. I heard the talk about the Super Bowl....GO EAGLES!!!!! We're having a huge party tomorrow (everyone in this area are Eagles fans, 'cept my husband...Cowboys all the way). Hope Philly wins...it could be ugly around here if not!
I sure do participate with the Meijer Community Rewards and I mention it often in our PTA newsletter, although it's our school that gets the money. But hey, it's free money!!!
Our Spartan stores (Glen's Markets) don't have a receipt program, they give you a measly dime IF you spend a minimum of $25. What a rip off. The school made a bit over $300 from them last school year compared to over $1200 and $900 from our other two stores that have a receipt program.
We do save the Spartan UPC's though, that 2 cents can add up.I think our total was about $400 from them and the other bigger store has started carrying Spartan gm/hbc items and some grocery, so, hopefully, that number will increase substantially.
I will stay on the look-out for a red inked envelope and put the secretaries on alert too. they are two of the best ladies you ever want to meet and have a part of your child's life.
Yesterday a little boy was having a rough day (nothing any of us would know about) and was brought to the office by the art teacher. Well, Mrs. Larson talked so sweet and gently to him and gave him a pat on the head with a nice grandma hug and he went from sobbing to having a smile on his face. Both our ladies are awesome and always go above and beyond to help our PTA. We are blessed!

I only received one, but who knows? All school mail seems to end up at the district office and then forwarded to the individual school, I'll keep an eye out for it. Our secretaries NEVER open our mail, they have too much to do to be bothered with it.
Speaking of Meijer, did you catch that great sale this week? Buy the following all on sale: a bottle of V-8 splash, a pack. of Kraft cheese slices and a box of Nabisco crackers, total was less then 6 bucks and then save $5 at the register. OMG, I had to get two deals!!!! What's up with them lately, they are practically giving the store away. No complaints from me though, I, too, only shop the specials and stock up like crazy.
It almost physically hurts me to have to pay full price for anything!I think I squeak when I walk!!!
