Hello, everyone!!! I'm finally mentally stable again. All the big events are over and my much needed spring break was a constructive one. Got some nooks and crannies cleaned out and had a nice time with my kids. We even had some gorgeous spring weather-my crocus finally bloomed! It was hard to come back to work. I really needed another day or two without the kids!!

Sunny and 75 here today, how about moving the chairs outside and soaking up some rays? I brought lemons to make some homemade lemonade(add a little vodka if you need something stronger). Maybe throw some burgers on the grill and whip up some potato salad?

Want to keep this mood, so I think I'll tape my mouth shut and sit on my hands at our meeting tonight!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

I think no more than 8 staff members total can have those voting positions-there is no way I would let anyone who showed up vote on what little money we have. Not that 8 show up mind you and I think they have so much extra time they have to put in outside of when kids are there and this counts towards it. We used to raise game birds when I was younger. Peacocks and turkeys are very funny when they are born. The cutest babies are bobwhite quail. I have earrings bigger than they are when they are born! Well, I have a Chuck E Cheese night to get the school ready for so I'll talk to you all later.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

So I've got lots of rain to look forward to in the next day or two? As if a hurricane shortened spring break wasn't bad enough, now the weather is turning against us, again. Well, at least it will match my mood.

Last weeks meeting was the worst. Actually got into a loud argument with the principal over us not having a treasurer. She can't seem to understand that it's not because we don't want one, it's just that no one wants to volunteer to do the job. I would love to have one. It would be a tremendous time saver for me, not to mention the proper thing to do. But if not having a treasurer, meant not having a pto, then we would have shut down by now, and a lot of good stuff would have gone undone.

But the real kicker of the meeting was finding out she bribed the teachers with comp time to come to the meeting. The teachers (who have never shown up before in the past 7 years)then voted to approve giving the primcipal more than half of our projected year end balance. I still can't get comfortable because of all the knives in my back. At this point, the appreciation week gifts are gone and the luncheon looks very iffy. Actually, the future of our pto looks iffy. The few involved parents would rather shut down, than become her personal cookie jar.

Something strong please barkeep! I need to stop tossing and turning and losing sleep over someone who does not deserve that much attention from me. :(

I hear ya on the b-day cake. Please lord don't let it rain next weekend. I kinda hate spring because with it comes the b-day parties of my children. I had one last week end for my middle child, this weekend is easter, next weekend is my yongest and the following weekend is my oldest. They are 11, 13, and 15 so I couldn't get out of the parties this year and of course they don't want to have one big one together. Anyway, I have 5 new birds to help keep the peanuts off the floor. I have 2 little baby birds that just hatched. Funny looking little things!!!!!Think Thanksgiving turkey in the roaster with heads and feet!!!! They don't have any feathers yet at all. I am hoping that they come out blue or yellow. The mother is green and the father is blue so they could be either one or green. oh, by the way they are ring-neck parrots. I guess you can tell that I love birds. I told my hubby that we could move the kids out and turn their rooms into aviaries. The kids weren't too keen on that idea...I can't figure out why.....hee,hee,hee

tiner68, I hear ya about the rain! I was out last night hiding plastic eggs and it was drizzeling. Thankfully, this morning @ 5:30 it had quit raining was just damp.

As for birthdays, we celebrated my 3yo son's on Saturday. It was a quite one just the 5 of us and since he's so young he was really interested in anything but the toys.

If the Easter bunny comes this way, he better bring a raft. I swear I have not seen so much rain since the hurricanes and the lighening is awful. It looks like someone is holding the flash button on a camera. My yard is a river. We didn't get to hunt eggs today because it is so soggy. So I decided to drink away the Easter blues. Pour me something with a little kick please. Anyone up for the bunny hop?
