Ladies and gentlemen there IS hope!!
Soon they will take to the sancity of their bedrooms and come out during feeding, phone calls, exiting the home and bathroom breaks. I have learned from my beautiful 5'7" 15 year old daughter is that she is not much different that her 2 year old self.
I love my 9,7,5 1/2 and 4 year old children (three boys and another girl) and quite honestly the two older boys are sitting outside (one in back, one in front) as they were racing home to watch TV. My 7 year old lost the race and slammed the door seven times (I counted) before I got to them. They should be cooled off by now. Oh yeah, my husbadn is watching a movie so no one gets the TV anyway!!!!

Why did we have five kids? Because I kept getting pregnant! HA! Nah, it's too quiet with less.

Hang in there...I know I just tied a knot!!!

Yeah, I love my son with my whole heart. The best thing is that his teachers, his friends parents and lots of other people always tell me what a great kid he is. I suppose if he saves the melt downs for me alone then I can handle it. At least he's out there putting his best face forward!

Shawn, if only you lived closer......

Crew Chief, I know this whole Jekyll/Hyde thing is normal for their age, but WOW! One of my friends called me after a desperate e-mail and said to just tune her out. He then told me how his wife and daughter would go at it. I guess the fact that every parent experiences it should make me feel better. I bought her some girl things today that will hopefully make her feel better. Pretty things always make me feel better-like my new lavender purse.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

mykidsmom - I'm very sorry for you and your community. Losing such a treasured member and friend is so sad for everyone. Surely his legacy will live on!

LUVMYKIDS - I have a snotty, bossy, almost 13-year old son (who, frankly, is lucky I love him as much as I do). If you discover the secret for surviving their adolescence, let me know!

It's so sad to lose any school parent, but especially one who was involved deeply in the school. My thoughts go out to your school family.

As for dealing with all these stressful issues and people, I'm tapping my ruby slippers together and chanting, "The year's almost over, the year's almost over..."

By the way, for anyone who is interested, I have a snotty, bossy, almost 12-year old daughter I'd like to giveaway or trade for a cute, lovable 4- year old.

My other option is medicating myself heavily so I can get through this phase she seems to be in.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
