I agree, sharing the germs is a small price to pay for cuddling sick babies. I can't tell you how many times I slept sitting up with Shorty sound asleep against me just so he'd stay propped up. Only one time did he have a bad ear infection. Lying flat on his back watching the ceiling fan slowly spinning was the only thing that calmed him. He fell asleep on my arm. My arm fell asleep, tingled and then throbbed painfully but there was no way I was going to move! The things we do for our kids.... All worth it!
LUV and d, I hope yours are feeling better soon.
Thanks for the flower, d! It looks Springier in here already!!!
Silver - here's a 'silver lining' for you. If it didn't snow, the lovely purple crocuses wouldn't be nearly as breath taking when they finally peek out.

I'm with you Luv--but when the kids are sick I Have to cuddle them. I never let them cry as babies either. One of my favorite memories of my mom was the way she smelled when she craddled me. As I got older she didn't do that much unless I was sick--and then she'd come into my room, change my sheets, put a cool cloth on my head (no motrin in those times), vacuum and just sit on my bed and rub my legs or hold me to soothe me. I have to do the same to my guys--but I always end up sick.
I love fresh flowers! That's part of my gardening plans for this spring-getting more cutting flowers going so I can always have some kind of bouquet in the house.
Well, I think my son has shared his germs-I have been coughing all day and now I feel feverish. I'll drag myself out for music lessons and then I'm going to bail on the meeting I was supposed to attend tonight.
It's snowing here too - lightly though, no accumulation. It's pretty but FREEZING. Single digit temps all week.
Shorty had a five day weekend ~ teacher institute Friday and Monday and Lincoln's Birthday today. I miss him when he's gone so I like the long weekends.
I'm the same on sick days - in bed, no goofing around, maybe tv watching from the sofa.
A nice, Spring pick-me-up is a $5 bouquet (or two) of flowers from the grocery store. It doesn't cost much and brings some lovely colors and scents into the house. I try to buy some up every week or so just to help keep the winter blahs away.

backhoed is the moniker of one of the page two founders I do believe. Haven't seen her around in awhile-maybe a name change?
I have a sick one too. He came down with a cough and fever Sunday evening. I called the school this morning to see if the teachers could put together his assignments, but was told that there are so many students gone, standardized testing and an early out scheduled for this week that the teachers are just going let the kids take care of things when they get back. Some of his teachers were gone too.
I don't allow the Wii to be played when it's a sick day either. They can watch TV(preferably educational) and read.
so I may be mad later saying this but we haven't had one drop of snow that has done anything more than fall. It's okay I guess. Two boys home sick -- one back yesterday and one complaining today that "home is boring" so I guess he's better. No game boys, ps2s or computer when they stay home "sick" so once they're feeling better they're pretty anxious to head back.
I AM SOOOOO MEAN!!!!

ps--on the VERY first post on page two is say "backhoed"...does anyone know what that means..it drives me nuts every time I read it....thanks
