I need a HUGE margarita. Nine days ago I ordered a die for our die cut machine so we could cut out 1000 felt mittens for a craft event. It was supposed to arrive in 5-7 days. I call the customer service and he says "Your order is fine." No, it's not because I haven't received it! He goes into some tale of woe about how busy they are, but says he'll get it shipped out today and rush it. I ask what he means by "rush". He says next week sometime. That gives me 2 weeks-2 WEEKS to do 1000 cuts!!! I expressed my displeasure but I think he was a robot, 'cause I got nothing!

I have a friend that is deploying as we speak with her battalion of Military Police to Afghanistan (the MPs are truly some of the toughest soldiers in the Army). I also have a small detachment of 5 Marine Counterintelligence guys in Iraq that need some taco bell hot sauce. I don't want to post the addresses here because I cannot control who mails to them...but if you are in the holiday mood you can really help their spirits with a note and a candy hug. Wow, I take an afternoon off and you guys go wild.(sick child-today is 4th day, but he's getting Grandpa treatment today).

My actions:

Continue my work on the district reading program.

Keep volunteering with my adorable first graders.

Adopt a family from the homeless shelter for Christmas. Did that last year and it opened my eyes to what's important: the mom just wanted some baking pans so she could cook for her family.

Get my family to church on a regular basis whether they like it or not.
