My little brother is still surviving basic training. He was scheduled for gas chamber and the first half of combative training Wednesday and "Thunder Tower" on Thursday or Friday. Then it's the end of Red Phase (1st three weeks). He seems very happy about that!

Oh let me tell you they are the WAP WAP WAP from about 5 miles away slowly getting louder and louder until you just want to pull out a shotgun and give them a piece of your mind. Obviously not the smartest option to keep the piece but man-o-live! I can understand how many would call and call until they didn't have flight options in the area. I would just like some kind of neighborhood rotation effort ... or atleast while they go over brainwash the children to love their siblings, clean up their rooms ~ this list goes on and on!

Depends on which kind- if they're the old Vietnam Vintage UH-1 (Utility Helicopter)or UH-58 (Scout) - WAP WAP WAP is kinda the sound they make- I dont think they make 'em quiet (Which I never understood- guess US arogance ) - the newer Blackhawks and such (Airwolf type or FireBirds) can be pretty quiet (especially the Black ones that fly over our neighborhoods at night with the brainwashing OPS) - If you know where the helo's are coming from- call the Bases and ask for the OD (Officer of the Day) and ask if you can file a friendly complaint (OXYMORON I) about the noise (contrary to popular belief the US Military is probably one of the most neighborhood and Eco friendly govt agencies (another OXYMORON) when they're not having to blow it up to root out terrorists and such)


Oh an I talked to our local Taco Bell- he gonna try and get a box of hot suace packets (like 1800 of 'em) donated (preferrrably) but I'll buy one if I have to (he wants to donate but had to call corporate to find out the policy on such things)

All children across the US must be uniting without our knowledge. Mine have been beastly. I fear in our case it has to be subliminal messages sent via the Reserve helicops ~ we seem to be in a flight patern between two reserve bases. The last 4 nights in a row we have consistantly been invaded. I support our troops and all branches of the military but it would be nice to have a quite evening in our future. It makes one wonder how we could sneak up on anyone with all the noise they make ~ you hear them before you see them. I am sure with all the military backround many of you can fill me in on many aspects of these helicops but right now we are interested in how they can be engineered to be quiet.

Dont know what the weather there is but it was almost 90- IN NOV here (might have something to to with it)- mine have been nasty and not too bright the last 2 days-

i.e. just finished cleaning pee of the bathroom floor 'cuz they waited too long to come upstairs and pottie

They are both in the foulest of moods and just won't leave each other alone. I know part of it is that my oldest isn't feeling well, and my youngest is jsut getting over something. But lord help me - they are nasty children today!
