CC - Each time I hear someone bashing another based on their 'orientation' I can't help but to wonder what kind of relationship issues/experiences they have had that makes them feel as if they can, for lack of a better word this early in the morning 'pick' on someone else. Honestly before anyone starts bashing anyone in any kind of situation, Gay issues aside, they better make sure there own backyard is in order. As a society we have a lot of work to do before we are perfect, let's get our own life in order before we start projecting outward.
Wow ~ was that a Susan moment or what.

So, anybody read And Tango Makes Three lately. Better get it before it's removed from every library on the planet.
Before anyone goes on an anti-gay rant, I'll say that I have a wonderful, smart, talented, gay family member that I love dearly. I am not anti-gay.
The big question this book seems to be raising is whether or not it's appropriate for the age group it's written for. And even though it's a true story should parents be faced with discussing this issue with 4 to 8 year old children?
Here's how the School Library Journal describes the book:
PreSchool-Grade 3-This tale based on a true story about a charming penguin family living in New York City's Central Park Zoo will capture the hearts of penguin lovers everywhere. Roy and Silo, two male penguins, are "a little bit different." They cuddle and share a nest like the other penguin couples, and when all the others start hatching eggs, they want to be parents, too. Determined and hopeful, they bring an egg-shaped rock back to their nest and proceed to start caring for it. They have little luck, until a watchful zookeeper decides they deserve a chance at having their own family and gives them an egg in need of nurturing. The dedicated and enthusiastic fathers do a great job of hatching their funny and adorable daughter, and the three can still be seen at the zoo today. Done in soft watercolors, the illustrations set the tone for this uplifting story, and readers will find it hard to resist the penguins' comical expressions. The well-designed pages perfectly marry words and pictures, allowing readers to savor each illustration. An author's note provides more information about Roy, Silo, Tango, and other chinstrap penguins. This joyful story about the meaning of family is a must for any library
Pelosi isn't exactly shining in her first few weeks, is she? What an amazing opportunity she has to show how women could perform in high profile leadership positions. I'll be disappointed if she squanders it away and ruins it for the rest of us.
Let's work on a campaign slogan for McCain instead. And Guiliani? What does everyone think of that?
d - my son is excited to help assemble some care packages! It's always fun to see the things he chooses and why.
OK, this lady was just on the Today show talking about how moms need to take better care of themselves and not feel guilty about 'guilty pleasures'. She said even if you don't have time for manicures and massages, at least try to take a shower every day. Since when is a shower every day a guilty pleasure? That lady is too busy!
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

Of course when you're standing there and the SCUD alarms are going off and you think there may be a chem inbound--well all of a sudden that stuff becomes interesting...can't wait to see if I end up with Lou Gehrigs now that they've showed a marked increase in DStorm vets with it givent he rounds that popped in Iraq...ahhhh...good times; good times.
Thanks too Crazy--MPs are the ones that guard the crossings for the infantry and tanks...they get there first and leave last...your worst nightmare...combat trained police officers, badge and attitude. But they'll cuddle a lost kitten and feed it their last bit of water to help it out.
You guys are terrific...I had a friend that was there 2 years ago. Came back from a firing range on Christmas day...everyone had opened their presents as they got them cause "why wait" and when they dragged their sad little butts back there were 20 packages waiting to be opened. It was Christmas in Iraq!!! Woo Hoo...

Pelosi pledged that after 12 years in the minority, "we will not be dazzled by money and special interests."
A veteran of nearly two decades in Congress, Pelosi was proud the she raised more than $50 million for the party's candidates and committees over the past two years.
