The great thing about democracy is that it gives every voter a chance to do something stupid.
Art Spander

Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.
Sir Winston Churchill

Our American values are not luxuries but necessities, not the salt in our bread, but the bread itself. Our common vision of a free and just society is our greatest source of cohesion at home and strength abroad, greater than the bounty of our material blessings.
Jimmy Carter

If we are to believe that our immigration laws simply have no value, as our current policies would have us believe, should we then simply throw them all out, the entire lot of immigration law? I hope not.

Hey d - I'm going to have 30 Christmas CDs to send in my care packages! Long story but it seems the Jerry Springer Brigade that I'm genetically saddled with has decided that they'd just as soon not recieve gift bags from me this year. Seems it's a burden. ???? Oh, that's fine. More for the troops!!!

But I ain't never seen a soldier turn down a brownie....or a cookie so have at it . Also -- on the letters they will love them!!!! We do a banner and sign it as part of a box. Thanks for doing all of this...makes a huge difference...d

people don't seem to realize that whether or not they agree with the whole gay thing, it isn't going away. There is no point in trying to hide it from their children. We have had a thing around here lately about 1. mexicans, and 2. black people. people saying, i will just send my child to the all white private school. Well it isn't an all white world. get with it. It totally ticks me off. I don't like that illegals are sucking our system dry but until the government decides to do something, this is what we have to deal with. Just like gay marriage. If someone wants to get married and be a productive member of society, go for it. Why judge someone because of who they love? That isn't for us to decide. that is God's job. personally, i have enough on my plate than to worry about someone else's business. They are good enough to go fight for us, but not good enough to get married?? Give me a break. If people worried about their own back yard more and took care of their business, we wouldn't have so much crap.

ok--feel better.

i bet the kids arent bothered one bit by the new penguin book, only some adults.
is there a kids book about male seahorses? who takes care of the unborn kids there.
is nothing about sexuality or choice, only about the animal kingdom. lets keep animals out of the PC and unPC war, i say. let them be animals, and let kids be kids while theyre still kids and not bother them with gender politics.

shawnfuscious, no way, sanfran is OK again, NY is the weird city with its 'gender change on birthcertificate' attempt! pretty soon we wont know if a penguin is male or female or if they changed their identity along the way.
