CC, you threw the shoes at him, that is too hilarious!!!!! If he thinks you're trying to impress someone with your hair and nails, ask him who he's trying to impress with his hydraulic lift?! Or tell him you're working out, so your butt looks good when it's sticking out from under the hood of the car!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Yeah, and apparently they want us to look nice just for them, nobody else, ever.... :)

Hubby threw a fit two weeks ago because I bought $20 shoes at Walmart (which he got to see right up close - twice - because they bounced off of him and I picked them up and threw them at him again) then he went out this weekend and bought a $2000 hydraulic lift for our new garage.

CC I hear you on the 'maintenance' money. We just sat down to do our 07 family budget. Husband was complaining about how much was going out all the time ... kind of made me feel as if he thought I was going to Vegas once a month ... well once he seen where all the money was going, his 'non-emergency' home projects rather than Vegas trips or long days at the salon, things got pretty quiet around here. The last time I told him I was going in for hair therapy he was complacent as could be.
They want us to look great but when it comes to paying for it ... well that's another story!

It's offical ... checked all suggestions (thank you) as well as my cook books here and I am out of at least one thing on every option. Obviously I will need to spend some time in the spice/baking/cooking isle. If it wasn't snowing I could shovel out the grill - yeah right!
I hate grocery shopping - always run into someone, they check out your cart while talking & then you feel as if you have to explain any booze in the cart. I did find one time that was pretty quiet last week - 7pm on a Sat ... just me (no kids), the two check out gals, bagger and a few teens stocking the shelves. Wow that was a relaxing shopping experience.

LUV, you can have one of mine. Trust me, I won't be using it.

OK, hubby has proven himself to be about the biggest idiot I know. I have chronic health issues so I've recently begun working out. A year ago I drastically changed my diet to hopefully live a longer life. I've always (for the last 5 years anyway) gotten my hair and nails done. In the winter I like to tan so I'm not so pasty looking. Today he calls while I'm at the nail place and says, "Why are you getting your nails done again, and tanning, and working out?" There's someone else, isn't there!?!?" OMGh Uh, no. None of this is new. I can't help it if he's just now noticing! We're celebrating our 24th anniversary at the end of the month. Where's the trust? Maybe, just maybe, I'm a little (a lot) nervous about representing our business at the trade show this weekend and I'm shining myself up a little bit. He's such a dork..... Men.....

Thos HOA rules are crazy. They can run home based businesses out of their garages that the rest of the homeowners partially fund through the utility bill but you can't have a feezer?!?! Hey, have that cabinet builder build a cabinet to put around it and the gunsmith to put a gun lock on it so it doesn't look like a freezer. Leave the Harley guy out of it though. Those people are crazy... ;) Everybody wins!
