Wow, I thought we had it bad. Friday it was 8 with a wind chill of -10. Today it was 17 when I took the kids to school and the high will only be 28 an the wind chill is making it feel at least 10 degrees colder. Our warm day (above freezing) this week will be tomorrow when it gets up to 43. It's times like this when I remind my husband about my dream to retire to a desert someplace with no snow and no allergies. I've been drinking nothing but coffee and cocoa for the last week trying to stay warm.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
That's the same temp we have, but I think our windchill is not quite that low. My son had safety patrol this morning and I had him in so many layers, it reminded me of the little brother in The Christmas Story. He kind of rolled his eyes at me, but I told him he doesn't understand HOW cold it really is and that skin can freeze in mere minutes. I told him I like his soft little cheeks and cute nose too much to see it frozen off. That stopped him from complaining, but knowing him, he probably thinks it would be cool to see someone's nose freeze off!
UGH All the kids are home schools were closed today due to the veryy frigid temperatures. Its 4 and feels like -22 BBBBRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Looks like they might have off tomorrow too!!!! Talk about cabin fever.

Man 1--hey we gotta schedule the final championship game for the best football teams in the nation. When ya wanna do it?
Man 2--well, how about Saturday, we'll make it in the evening, have a party, some beers...make a big night outta it....
Man 1--good idea, but I can't do it Saturday--I gotta bowl.
Hows about Sunday night...
Wife 1 (in a very calm voice) but honey--Sunday isn't good, the children have school, you have to work, we can't stay up late, drink to much...why not just make it for Saturday.
Man 1: Cause I gotta bowl...that's why...(to man 2) Women - jeez...they don't understand nuthin...I'm good with Sunday...
Man 2: Sounds good--I'm in. Comeon...let's go get the chips n stuff. Jeez - women.
Brrr, Silver!! We're not quite that cold, but there were schools not far from here who were cancelling classes! I broke out a wool sweater. I usually find them too warm, but today it feels pretty darned good.
Congrats Colts & Shawn!
I wish it was 1 degree. When I retired last night it was -20 not including wind chill. Woke up this morning to -17 (who knows what the wind chill puts us at) .... thank goodness we have sun. Going to the gym this morning despite all the warnings that your skin can freeze in less than 5 minutes. Maybe all the part timers will stay home and the gym will actually be relaxing ... no waiting for machines.
Have a good Monday all!
