You know I was watching Rosie the other day and she said she has reverse anorexia body image. I do too...it is where you think you look thinner than you do and you then see a photo of yourself and go "holly macaroni--I'm huge". I looked into lap band stuff and it is 11k....I don't have 11k to spend on lap band stuff....I'm getting a pool put in....this battle of the bulge thing is SOOOO frustrating...and now that the kids are old enough that I wouldn't mind looking like a woman again...I'm not where near the range of weight that makes me even interesting to myself much less anyone else. 22 lbs!! Good for you jajea! I have the diabetes issue too. I had gotten off the wagon, but am getting better again. I keep some hardboiled eggs in the fridge. Protein rich foods do tide me over better than carbs. I actually am sitting here eating some peanuts in the shell. I find having to "work" for them ensures that I eat less.
Fox, Because of diabetes I had a visit with a nutrionist. She gave me advice that has really worked for "feeling like your starving". Eat 1 slice of bread (wheat is best) with a teaspoon to tablespoon of peanut butter or a handful of nuts. I know, sounds bad. But she explained to me that while nuts do have fat in them, they also have protien, which will make you feel fuller and they are actually good for you. She said they have had a bad rap for too long. Now that doesn't mean we can eat all we want, have to eat them in moderation. I now have this for breakfast some days and it really does work. I don't have that gotta have something to eat NOW feeling hardly ever. 1-2 oz of cheese was another food she suggested for the same reasons. By the way, I am down 22 lbs. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Good Luck
A bunch of ice cubes, strawberries and a banana ... who knew a simple slushie would make me so full? I barely (notice the use of barely) could finish my lunch. I am probably going to be starving in a couple of hours. I typically try the Kashi 7 Grain cracker trick when I am hungry but then I always feel as if I need something to dip or put on the cracker like cheese spread or spinich dip ... get's me in trouble every time. Yesterday I rented a movie for the kids and made popcorn. As I was eating a few peices of the 'light' popcorn I caught myself thinking "this needs more butter." Of course I resisted but it's going to be a long summer if I don't change my thinking!
I think I am going to take the kids to the local library and swimming pool. It's just too nice out to sit at home this first week off of school. I am going to have to take the long way otherwise we will pass McDonalds and we will all be in trouble!

Thanks Luv - cake was good. "Virtual" cake is the best though as I'm on the same path as Silver right now - and for that Silver - I have a trick that works for me and maybe it will work for you.
When I get to where I could eat everything in my kitchen (and it's an hour or more til a meal) I'll have a handful of crackers, snack bar, or even a full glass of milk (or slushie!) and make myself wait 10 to 20 minutes - and use something like Luv's chant during that time. Sure enough, after those 10-20 minutes have passed, the tummy feels full and I can go about my business and feel like I'll make it to the next meal. A relative of mine told me years ago (who lost 50 lbs!) that you've just got to wait a bit after you eat to "let it all settle".
Speaking of food, and Paris, I hope they are giving her more than bread and water - she could use it. Maybe we should all send her a chocolate cake!!! HA - I crack myself up - getting goofy now - PMS part 2. Part 1 was giving my boss ^$%# and now I need to get out of this office.
Stay tuned for tomorrow for PMS Part 3......
