I would love a copy of the flyer that you sent out. Also did you have a time schedule or how did you arrange the hour that you had? Did you suggest that they bring a game, book or something? What besides having a donation jar and doing it every other month would you change? It sounds like a great idea!! Please send me the info to This email address is being protected from spambots. I think Donuts with Dad is a great idea. How long does it run? One hour? Is it just a social hour or do you have activities, or books on the tables? Please give me your ideas as I would love to initiate this at our elementary school. We have a childcare program in our gym before school starts so doing it in our library by grade level might be the answer. I'm sure going to look into it. Any other suggestions/ideas out there?
Has anyone tried this as a grade level event. We would like to sponsor donuts with dad and have each dad read a book afterwards with thier child. We plan on starting with the kindergarten dad's first and two weeks later invite the kindergarten moms. Each month except December do a different grade level. Any ideas or feed back would be great! I would love a copy of your flyer. Thanks!
oneoldmom--we ran into the problem that you mentioned---a lot of the children eat breakfast every morning. We had begun with Goodies for Grandparents to coincide with Grandparents' Day, Muffins for Mom and Doughnuts for Dad and had SUCH a response that we weren't able to continue since there was no room in the cafeteria. We're now trying to figure out some way to be able to do it again that won't disrupt breakfast. One possibility was to begin earlier than 7:30, but that was pooh-poohed by more than a few and Saturday mornings doesn't seem very promising either.
Help--any suggestions???????
