Contact Krispy Kreme donuts. We did an awesome Donuts w/ dad/grandad for Vetrans Day. The turn out was great. If you do a Krispy Kreme fundraiser on the same day, it will pay for your donuts. We sent home preorder sheets and sold some at the breakfast. We had all you can eat donuts and juice for free, and we still profited $600.00, and that was with a 150dz order. We had none leftover. We only have 459 students.

I just had to give an update! First I would like to thank those who emailed me information! It was a huge help! In October we had our first DWD event. We had planned on breaking it down to three events, pre-k to 1, 2-3 and 4-5. However, we had such a response when we first asked, that we had to break it down by grade level!! We have about 950 students in our school. We have had four events now. pk-2 grades. Each time we have had 100 or more attendees. Dunkin Donuts donated the donuts because they are opening a new store in our area. We have had between 10 and 15 dozen donuts each time. We went through all but maybe two dozen at the most at each event. We send out notices a week and a half before the event(Wed.), due a week later. And we hold it on a Friday morning from 745-820. School starts at 830 and I have asked each time that they take the kids out on the playground or to their cars until school starts so that we can get cleaned up before the breakfast crowd comes in. Even this month when it was about 28 degrees outside, they let the kids play on the playground. We haven't had very big messes or spills (knock on wood). However, we decorate the tables with table cloths and whatever seasonal decorations we have. So clean-up takes a good 10-15 minutes. This last crowd was the messiest. Many of them did not clean up after themselves. Before this month, they have all cleaned up after themselves!! The parents think this is great - moms and dads. Kids get to see each other outside of class. The Dad's like it because they get to chat with other Dads, which doesn't happen very often. It is an awesome social event all the way around. We will be having three more DWD events, one a month. The the weekend of mothers day, we are hoping to have Dad's serve a Muffins With Mom on a Saturday morning, opening it up for about three hours so that we can accomodate the whole school. We started off having about 8 helpers for the whole thing. We ended at this one with just the three of us who coordinated the events. We were able to run it with just three, clean-up took a little longer. I would recommend 5 people for the whole event. Anybody who is considering doing one of the events, I highly recommend it! And thanks to everybody who posted info on here about this!!
We do a "lunch bunch" week at our school. Each day one grade level can invite 2 family members (parents, grandparents, etc.) to come and eat lunch with them. Parents are asked to bring their lunch for them and their child ( or the child can eat a tray lunch). This year we did it picnic style. Everyone was asked to bring a blanket or lawn chair and we sat outside and had lunch. The kid's loved it. We had rain on just 1 day out of 6, on that day, they laid out blankets in the hallways and ate inside. Still had a great time and the kids love it.
I just want to say thanks to whoever came up with this idea. We have a small K-4 elementary school, with only 95 students. Everyone of our students is bussed, so I wasn't sure how well of a turn out we would have. We had our first Donuts With Dad in October and only had about 10 families not show up. I was amazed and the dads couldn't stop raving about it. We will be having our first Muffins with Mom in December and have already gotten a great response. I'm sure we will have just as many moms as dads.
We also had another idea that turned out well. We offered a Family Lunch Day during November. The parents were able to eat hot lunch with their kids, bring in cold lunch, or bring in McDonalds, etc.. We had about 75 adults, as well as younger siblings, show up. We don't have a very big lunch room, so they were allowed to eat in the classrooms or library if they didn't have hot lunch. Hot lunch people had to eat in the lunch room because of the possibility of spilling trays. I really didn't think we would have that good of response, but everyone liked the idea.
