Yeah for your successful event! We do both Donuts with dad and Muffins with mom and both are a success, but I must admit the Dads event is always bigger. One thing we do to a an additional boost to the PTO funds is we take a photo of the student & the Dad and the same with the moms. We're a small elem. with only 220 students. This year for the dads we took 90 pics. at $1 per pic. We had same day develop & still netted $70+/- ! Also, we have a Krispy Kream within 65mi & they donated about 1/2. Same w/ The My Favorit Muffin shop for the moms event.
Keep enjoying! Our kids are worth it!

Just read some more post and wanted to add...
We have done the events back to back in the past (about 2wks in between) and have decided to move the dads to the fall. Also, We try to have this event on the calander at the begining of school so that the folks can plan accordingly. We welcome the non-parental influences also. (ie. grandmas, aunts, uncles, grandpas etc...)
Our school does serve breakfast. We had some donuts & muffins left over this year and made them avaliable for those who ate breakfast at the school and put some out for the teachers.
This is definately a family fun event! My husband is the PTO president and last year was his first year & he has really enjoyed it. I also think that when the other "dads" see him out & about and involved they've given their involvement a second thoguht! After the dads event, we had a few men show up for the meetings & I chair'd the spring carnival and was stunned at the number of MEN that came (w/o) asking to see what they could do to help.
(ps: I had been approached about being pres. and although I wanted to do it the past 8 yrs PTO has been dwindling due to excessive bickering amoung the ladies (officers & others) and since my children are young 2nd & k, I wanted to avoid all the yuck. Last years board was made up of all new members (except one & she resigned)and they all got along!, the PTO MADE money for the first time in years! and we are all excited about next year.) I say we, I support my husband and the other officers and help out. Next year should be even better.
