Our organization has used Scrip Advantage for the past two years with no problems until this past August. We are a small group of approximately 250 families, but this is our major fundraising tool for our families. We currently are owed $3,000 in backorders over the past three months. I hate to admit that I was having misgivings about a month ago, and those were confirmed today when I tried to reach SA and got the recording only. No way to communicate with them. I am deeply saddened that this has now happened to us twice in five years. First with National Scrip Center, now this. Thank you to those of you who have posted contact names and phone numbers for the Fresno authorities. I will be using those later today. It is so hard for organizations to fundraise and these scrip programs have offered what we do anyway...Shop. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing to have to announce this to our families.
I can't believe Scrip Advantage is doing this! Please call the the District Attorneys office in Fresno and speak with Debra Anderson at (559)488-3836. Also, call the BBB of Central California at (559)222-8111. I did call the Fresno PD at (559)621-2000 and was told I had to call my local PD and file a fraud complaint with them, they in turn get in touch with the Fresno PD. I took it a step further and called the Utix Group, Inc. and talked with the Presidents (Anthony Roth) asissitant. Utix and Scrip Advantage signed a joint venture, distribution, and marketing agreement on October 4, 2005. The number for Utix is (781)229-2589. The PR firm they used to tell the world how great Scrip Advantage is can be called at (407)585-1080. Dodi Handy is the person of contact at the PR firm, Elite Fincancial Communications Group. We are owed $4455.61 by Scrip Advantage. I did talk to a rep, Amber, yesterday and asked that they send us Safeway script, as of right now they have not been shipped. The killer is we don't even have a Safeway in New Mexico. Please feel free to call me or send an email with any questions. I am the scrip coordinator for a small school in Fresno and we have been with SA for a few years. Because we are in the same town I pick up our orders...SEVERAL reps were let go and locked out of their computers this morning. They were also made to sign an agreement that they would not discuss what is happening with the company. Guilt made my rep come clean...GET YOUR MONEY OUT...I was told by my rep that I could probably get issued a check today but it would most likely bounce. I took my reps suggestion and traded all $6000 for Safeway/Vons - which is about the only thing they do have in stock. Our parents can take these cards to Vons and purchase any of their hugh variety of gift cards. I waited in that office for 4 hours today because I was not leaving with that $6000. It made me sick to my stomach, knowing what is happening within this company, and listening to the 'new' reps take orders over the phone. How these people can look themselves in the mirror is beyond me. Good luck to all of you...trade if possible because the word is, they have no money to refund!
