2013 ULTIMATE DONATION LIST

Thank you all for your input, I will have to look this over with my assistant. It definitely sounds like I am going to have to put a disclaimer with our auction goers.

I also received the premier vacations certificate and we decided that we are not putting it on the auction. I read the reviews online and the time share pitch seemed aggressive to some. It was a generous donation but I don't want someone complaining to me later. The winner would still pay a lot for airfare and food so for me, this was too risky got our comfort level.

There is a lot of fine print and some extra fees. I don't think it is that bad of a deal but some others on the old thread have mixed feedback. But it is a time share type deal that makes you listen to a sales pitch when you get there.

Has anyone ever gotten a donation from "Premier Cancun Vacations"? What did you get? and was it straight forward or was there alot of fine print? Thanks!!

Carol on long island your options are endless. There are so many mom & pop stores (as well as big chains). You have so many sports teams in the area (which they all donate something) as well as many minor league teams. Think outside the box too- is there a lawyer at the school who will donate 2 hours of their service, a parent who is a good baker who will donate a cake or cookies to be baked for a party. Or maybe someone will offer their time to clean out someone's garage or wash their car for a month. There are tree guys & lawn guys, handymen & gutter cleaners. There is the children's museum & the game farm & the aquarium.... I could go on and on. Our biggest sellers were special time with our teachers (night time bed time story where the teacher will come read your child a story in their pj's, get your nails done with the teacher, go to the book store with a teacher). If you have an older school (we're a preschool) you can do - be a principal for a day, be a teacher for a day, have lunch with a teacher, etc.... I hope this was helpful. And don't forget to check out page 356 in the old donation thread... it will give you a list of all the companies you can contact nationally.
