I was wondering if anyone has ideas in regarding how to get donations. Our golfing tournament will be in Tustin, California and the event is geared to Autism. I appreciate all the help.

How do you go about submitting a donation request to Highlights? We have never solicited them before, but everyone keeps saying how great their donations are!
Yes, the general answer is one yes for every 3 or 4 no's. I got two no's today but one yes. Try your local amusement parks or museums, movie theaters or restaurants. As stated, the ones listed are generally going to be inundated. I have more luck locally as well. They aren't going to get as many requests and want to keep the money in the community.
Google or do a web search of your city or local cities + donation request. Or look up mall directories and go down the list, contacting stores. Go in person with a stack of donation request letters or call and ask for the manager.
You still have about 3 weeks left. Ask for help from other people at the school like parents.
I've been doing our elementary school's auction for 5 years now and while I do get some donations from national businesses, I am by far more successful contacting local businesses. And to be even more successful with local businesses, I have parents who are regular customers approach them. I usually contact about 1600 businesses and only receive donations from about 200-300 of them.
