I am one of the people who posted about a show in NY and I don't reside there, but for those of us who have family there or are intending to visit, it is GREAT!
I live in West Virginia and it borders 3 other states and those 3 states are closer to me then the rest of WV. That makes it kind of hard for me to stay ONLY in West Virginia.

I just want to say that I am so thankful that a friend referrred me to this site. It has been such a great help to me in organizing our silent auction.
We did the get the Elite Island Resorts. Has anyone experienced the complete end result of one of these packages? For example, do you know someone who has gone and had a great time with no issues.
First off I would like to thank everyone who posts ideas on this site. It has been so helpful. We did get the Elite vacation package. Our group decided to pay for the meal plan and we made it a whole package deal. We did advertise that you had to get your own flights. We were lucky enough to have someone who worked at a travel agent who agreed to work with the winners.
Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all who contribute to this site. I have gotten some WONDERFUL ideas and suggestions. Not only does this site help those of us VOLUNTEERS, but it is essentially helping our schools and our children. One thing that I have learned is that even though we send a request, it is up to that company to approve or deny. Although many posters have gotten a positive response from Cabot Cheese, we were denied. I have however, gotten some great ideas for destination packages. From the main contact in a destination, I have gone to tripadvisor and looked for hotels, dining and other attractions in the same area. I have been very successful this year and it is my second year. Also, I googled "Silent Auction" and look for other auctions in and around my area. I have heard back from 25% of the contacted businesses. I have contacted as many authors as I can find email addresses on. Currently, I have 10 autographed children's books that have been sent to me. I have commitments on several more.
Just remember, we are all in this together for one common goal: to help our children! Right?
