@Dawn - Thanks for the info!

I like the idea of fundraisers with direct sells, but usually there percentage is 20 to 30%....I know that ass a Scentsy rep....a fundraiser more than likely would not be a great benefit to our organization as much as making a donation that is auctioned off - the advertising would be well worth it!

Denise

p.s. this site is awesome I have read thru all pages and seen some question not answered and wished this tread set up allowed to reply directly to the msg regarding...example, I have a question for Gwen but it was around page 200 or something like that... :)

If you need to raise funds fast, head to your local restaurants for charity nights. ASk Texas Roadhouse if you can also host a bakesale while there, they often allow this.

Other places to try:
Applebees
Chilis
TCBY
local owned restaurants/ice cream places.

Another option that might work, ask a friend to host a Scrapbook crop, do a Tupperware party for a fundraiser, or Partylite. You can also ask a local bowling alley if he can go sell candy bars to their bowlers on league nights.

Good luck

***Try doing football squares for the playoff games! Big money to be made.

If you are fundraising for military, women's organizations or children's critical care, you can try Provide Commerce's website. The own Red Envelope, Sheri's berries and other companies. I tried getting a donation for our school auction, but this was not in their priorities.

Try www.providecommerce.com/about-us/giving-back/donation-form

Some of you might have some luck.

Hi everyone, I am not a leader in the PTA but I did happen to stumble upon this thread while doing some research for my son, he is a freshman is highschool, he has two learing disabilities, along with a seizure disorder. Last year he was medically homebound for most of the school year, although this year he is doing so wonderful. He is thriving beyond what any of his advisors ever thought.
He just received a nomination for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council to participate in the National Youth Leaders State Conference. However, the cost of this honor, is right at $1600. My husband is a Police Officer, and I am disabled. Funds are very tight to say the least. With this opportunity, he is allowed to do fundraising, and also receive personal donations from anyone, except Congress members or State Senate Members. This is all new to me, I am at a loss on how to help him, and where to start for donations, or fundraising. Not to mention, the deadline for the first payment is January 25th, 2013. Any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate. If anyone could provide me with a list of possible places that would donate or help in anyway possible. If he is provided with this opportunity, it will open many doors for him for college scholarships, and top Universities. Not to mention, when I met with his teachers the other day, if Jeffrey stays on track, doing the work level and keeping his grades where they are now at a 3.8 gpa, he will be able to graduate a half year early. So any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you so much, a very proud momma. Paige

Hi,

I have loved reading all your success with donations for your PTO events...please forgive me ion advance, but I presume that sine you all volunteer like I do for several things that you might be able to point me in the right direction....I am working with our church youth group for fundraising and we need donations for prizes during a Bingo fundraiser....have you all had any success with donations from these companies when wearing a different hat outside of your schools!

I will say the ideas I have read thus far have helped me get started thinking about local businesses...I have never done this for a church group and not sure how hard it will be ....I know some companies outright say they won't donate to religious groups which is fine...just trying to get some ideas flowing!!!

Thanks in advancement for words of wisdom and have an awesome day!

Denise

p.s. would love info about businesses in San Antonio, Texas area?!?!?
