These are the ones that i emailed and received items. I have lots more but they are local and will be no good to anyone else. Thank you for all your ideas on here
what do you do when the parents arent involved? I am gettng a little frustrated. We planned out an awesome auction this year and moved away from cheap junk fill baskets to more experience based baskets. We are a private preschool with 6 classrooms. Every other donation has been secured by me and my co-chair ( about 25 gifts). They are griping about asking for ONE thing? sigh.... I guess I just expected that people would look forward to bidding on tickets to a Broadway show or Yankees tickets ( we are 30 mins from NYC) instead of dollar spot stuff in a basket. Our top selling basket last year sold for $60. THAT'S IT!! 2 years prior, the top selling basket went for $1700! That is a HUGE difference. This is our frist year chairing and we wanted it to be great and stuff we would bid on.
Is it too much to ask for them to ask for one donation or to go in with a few other parents to purchase a nicer gift? For my class we got tickets donated ( via a parent), a car service donated ( via teacher) and money to buy gift certs for dinner out. I volunteered to shop and assmeble the basket if the class parents collected. I also printed a flyer for their mailboxes adn class door to let parents know what to look for. any other suggestions for getting parents involved?
I admit I am a little worried. If we have this little particiaption at this time that tickets sales may be tough too...
Does anyone in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area have any suggestions as to restaurants that have been good with donating? There are so many restaurants, I'm sure at least some will donate gift cards!
We are also putting together a girl scout cookie blowout basket. We are asking parents to donate as many boxes as they want. We all order too many boxes so who cant get rid of one or two. Also our event isn't until August and with our GS cookie sales being Feb-March people will be ready for them.
