Will you be running for office this year?

The members of our executive board have 2-year terms so I have one more year in my term as president. We are, however, currently accepting nominations for our 1st VP and Treasurer positions...and the fun begins! LOL

We don't "run" for office--we are slated and it's only for one year. I've enjoyed it..though I am sort of looking forward to my "retirement". I can take on other things without the pressure of the job. I probably would do it again if we had that sort of set-up but we don't and there is a wonderful vice-president/president-elect that I have been training all year and she'll be great.

See that's my dilemma. I served two years as President and really got a lot done to make our group better. Now I've had two years off and really enjoyed that time too. I got involved in other offices and did some really fun things without having all the pressures of leading the group. Now I've had some people ask me to run for President again. When I think about the path I'd like to see our group take next year, I feel like I could best do that from the President's spot. I don't know....

For the last 2 years I have been asked to keep doing this because there hasn't been anyone else. Each year I've taken on more and more. This is the first year I am excited about doing it another year and I feel the group is finally on the right track and I don't care about the work load because I actually see it paying off and can tell that everyone is happy about how things are going. At this point, I don't care if there are only 2 parents again next year because it's all finally coming together.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Just wondering if anybody is planning on running for an office this year and how you feel about it? I'm kind of in a quandry over what I want to do next year....
