Our current president is in ill health, and probably won't run again. Our current treasurer is moving away. The majority of our parents don't care enough to help with events, so I can't see them holding an office.
Yep...I'll be holding an office again this year. Maybe even two! Guess we'll find out this Thursday when we hold "elections".
Bertha, your post almost made me spit my drink out on my keyboard! Sorry, I don't mean to laugh, but it's common knowledge within the different groups/committees that I'm involved in, that if you're not in attendance at a meeting, you will be volunteered for some type of job.
I do hope that all goes well and the household gets use to the idea and provides support.
I am not running BUT do to a new principal coming in the group took a vote, ammended our bylaws asking all current leaders to stay on. Over all feelings is that a brand new principal will be learning from us as much as us from him and working on that relationship is much more important, we have worked hard to get where we are at and it is very important to help him adjust and us adjust as well. Next year the ammendment gets voided and normal elections take place. I truly think that it takes a few years to really develop as a leader and only now truly feel that I am doing okay with it. there is sooo much to learn...
"When you stop learning you stop growing."
Reminds me of a sign I saw once..."Lord, Please put your arm around my shoulders and your hand across my mouth." I need to remember this one more often myself.
