CC--welcome home!!!! Wow for most people just moving in 5 weeks is enough to make them "busy". Not you---sorry 'bout the car. This is an expensive hobby no?....
Hotter than my hubby in a bathing suit out here today....the Jimmy with 135,000 miles on it does fine when we're driving fast but idle just a bit and the temp rises...any ideas CC.
So in the land of "there's never a dull moment" did a COSTCO run today (330 bucks) and got the boys lunch. Went to get a soda and came back to 4 boys giggling like crazy and soda spray all over the place. Seems the youngest (5) showed everyone how he could drink soda through his nose using a straw....you can't make this stuff up!!!

I'm here, I'm here! I've read through page two and tried to catch up on everyone's posts....
Shawn, I have no words to express my sadness for you and your family. Please know that I hold you in my heart and will remember you in my prayers.
It sounds like everyones' summers so far have been as varied and diverse as the many personalities on this board.
It's been crazy since the move. Our past month:
Week one, moved to Illinois and unloaded truck, weekend in Joliet for a race. Blew up the hemi (literally) and threw parts all over the track. Aye yi yi Week two, Shorty and I popped back down to Alabama to tie up some loose ends, visit friends and train at the dojo. Weekend was spent visiting family back at our new house. Week three, back home for one week, navigating around boxes, hooking up utilities then to Indy for the weekend for niece/nephew college/high school graduation parties. Week four, to Pensacola Beach for a vacation with friends. Lovely condo, quiet, relaxing beach, wonderful. Week five, back home to discover it really is true that 'those boxes won't unpack themselves'..... Shorty has taken off with grandma and 19 year old cousin for a camping adventure to Nebraska and back. They left today and will be back home Saturday or Sunday. Grandma has a truck camper, a campground guide, an adventurous spirit and two wonderful grandsons to keep her company. It should be fun for everyone!
I'll try to pop in and out over the next few weeks but I really, really have to start making this house a home. Who knows how long we'll be at this one so I'd better make it count.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

I'll take a mint julep. I have blackberry scones too. Tried out a recipe from a local place where I always loved the scones. They taste exactly the same! Sometimes when places give out their recipes you kind of wonder if you're getting the real, complete recipe.
Actually, let me buy a round for everyone. I'm celebrating the news that my annoying coworker has decided to take another position and will be moving away!!! Yippeee!!!!!
I'd back you any day on that one Luv! I say if you can do it with a smile and grace - you'll get away with anything!!! (at least that is what all my southern girlfriends and I have learned ) Throw a little "darlin" and you're golden!
D - I read that same website spoiler. The guy is a nut! But, like you it just makes me all the more excited to get my hands on the book.
Mint julip anyone?

Do you think anyone would mind if I just drove my car right up next to the bleacher area at the ball field tonight, so I could sit in it with the air running while I watch the game? I hate to sweat, it's just not my thing.
OMG I don't know what I'd do without AC....I REALLY don't know how the settlers did this across the plains and all. Them were some mighty tough men and women!!!
I know -- the whole HP thing is VERY exciting. I read a spoiler by a guy that supposedly hacked into the publishing company's final book. He was a person with religious beliefs that went counter to the ideas of the HP series. He wanted to "spoil" everything for everyone so they wouldn't read the book but after reading what he has said happens, I'm all the more excited to get the book to read all the details. Of course there were denials by the company that his facts were right--but still...just ended up tweaking my interest.
