Ok guys, beach cities overcrowded, big cities too much traffic, lets take a quick survey, where is the best place for families to live these days, if you could choose your city/state?
Hudson OH anyone?

I know the feeling. I was born in Clearwater fl.and lived there until the 1st grade. I remember going to the beach on Sundays and having a blast, finding shells, sand dollars, star fish, etc. Now you're lucky if you can find a parking space. Shells? the only ones you can find are in the tourist traps. I went back last year for a visit and diffenately have no disire to return.
The sad part is when my sister and I were kids we practically lived in the river, now I hesitate to let the kids come in contact with the water. That was another of the things talked about in the conversation I had this morning: how much the river and islands have changed.
I know that was a very vivid reminder for me. We used to go stomping around in the pine barrens in New Jersey. They were named that because the pine trees were so think that the settlers decided they couldn't cut them down to use the land to it was deemed barren. There are huge cranberry bogs down there and many times I remember leaving one or two shoes behind. Cool and thanks for that!...

OMG I had forgotten about doing that! I have to take the kids this coming weekend and do that. They'll have so much fun.
Wow, a girl takes some time away and you guys went crazy!!!! Sounds like everyone has/is really busy. I desperately needed the 10 days off from work. Enjoyed my family and friends, watched tons of Little League baseball, read 4 novels, and cleaned out some of those places you forget you have stuff stored.
Hate to jump back so far, but I was feeling like a kid reading about wadin in the crick and coke in bottles. I had just finished having a great conversation with someone here about gigging frogs, digging clams, seining for crawdads and putting out trot lines. I'm a (Illinois/Iowa area)Mississippi River Rat!
