Sigh - high school. I LOVED it. Would do it again in a heart beat!
(now middle school was a horse of another color - you couldn't pay me enough to go back). I wasn't mega popular - but had friends in all the groups - preps, jocks, band, even the smokers (only after they had aired out though ). Had such a great time with the different clubs, doing the photograpy for the year book and so on. I think thats why I'm looking forward to my HS reunion this Novemeber. The memories ........

My best high school memory: going over roller coaster hill at 70 mph (moms old's cutless) - actually got the tank airborn! Only saw one car and thought I had gotten away with it. But guess what - the one car was being driven by one of the foreman for my moms company. Yep - got busted! He wanted to know why my mom was going so fast with a car full of girls (oh - did I forget to mention the 5 other girls in the car with me :D )

My son threw the biggest, most embarrasing fit when he got his kindergarten shots. It took me and four nurses to hold him down. On the way out he said, "I could've gotten away if that one nurse wasn't so fat!" I said, "That's why she works here, sweetie." He's 13 now and still can't stand the idea of a shot. He says he'd rather have the flu twice than the flu shot once. Sadly, he may just get his wish.

I am one of those Mom's who hate giving my kids drugs when they are sick and refuse to go to a dentist that uses gas or other means to repair teeth. I am pretty sure my kids can be heard across town when they get immunization shots. I couldn't bear to put them through more at a dentist. I am not one to typically hype anyone but I really love the new laser treatments dentists are using. For anyone who is interrested in pain free dentisty type in your zip code on Waterlase.com. This is a newer treatement using a laser and water instead of needles etc.

Lu, Half the items you mentioned are back in sytle in some form or another. Like the fingerless gloves. I remember my mom having a cow when I cut up a pair of chruch gloves to try to be like Madonna.

I do my very best not to ever think about high school. I went to private school on a scholarship. If only they would have provided the clothes, car, and money needed to be able to have a complete high school experience there, I would have been fine. By my junior year I had a nervous breakdown. Anyway, I can tell you that Catholic girls do like to have fun and I used to sneak out all the time. I can't believe I never got caught. Makes you think about what your parents did that you won't do.
For those keeping track-I have now seen the Little Mermaid 13 times since Friday. It is on repeat now and the only thing that makes my 3 year old fine to not be in my lap all the time with his cough. I found myself singing Part of Your World while I was making copies at the school this morning. I'm sure everyone thinks I'm crazy anyway and this just added to it. Off to run more Carnival errands.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Yikes - 10am and I'm still sitting here nursing the latte. The laundry is still piled, the dishes aren't washing themselves, the cats (all five of them) are napping on the sofa. I need to get moving!

Hi onaroll! Fred & Wilma - that's what hubby and I call each other - I know, I know, it's cheesy. I loved making costumes for my son when he was younger but hubby and I have never dressed up for halloween.

Ok, I really have to get going. So much to do, no desire to do it......
