hey T--I swear i get seriously sick every semester at finals! Last semester i got walking pneumonia and an ear infection and LOST MY HEARING!!! i swear! A couple of semesters ago it was the flu, then gallbladder issues, etc... EVERY SINGLE TIME!! My kids only get sick when there is something fun to do--like a Kenny Chesney concert or when the Eagles were here.
CC-i've added jalapeno's to the chicken cass. before it is was even better! i love spicy. My stomach doesn't but my mouth does!
Thanks for the info! I'm always worried about medicine for my son. Hubby hates medicine and almost never takes any. My son and I are both very sensitive to meds. For over the counter stuff we both usually only need 1/2 the recommended dose. Allergies have never been a problem but we recently moved and new pollens are wreaking havoc! I hope we build up immunities.
Well, I have an entire dish of chicken casserole all to myself. Hubby came home, threw a giant fit and said he hates (hates hates hates) it and will never eat it again. My son thinks it looks like something someone has already digested for you. (that's a 13 year old boy for you). That's fine. More for me. So, I got a warm, delicious meal and they got hotdogs and chips.
T - I hope your little one is feeling better soon. What misery.
My oldest is the only that had a problem with it. It didn't keep him awake, but it would give him the shakes for a while. It was a life saver though for the other kids. I have also with time noticed that all of these problems start when the seasons change and anything allergy related. Mine always started with a runny nose, etc.. After a few days of that we were having breathing problems. I put the older kids on Claritin when these signs start and my youngest who is under two is on Rhondec which works great for her. Also a black cup of straight coffee helps to open the airways along with a steam shower (just let hot water run in the shower with the bathroom door closed and let the kids sit in the bathroom for a few!!) Read a nice book and enjoy the heat, but it seems to help loosen up everything and open up the airways. I have heard some parents complain with it making the wired. Ask about Pulmacort (sp??) We have used that also!!
Could someone please expalin why it is that when I have a ton of homework (2 paintings due by Wed, 5 survey quesitons by tomorrow and 1 paper on black and white chinese pottery), a fundraiser to get up and running - my oldest decides to get sick?
Not just a head cold sick. Noooooo.....this one has the potential to turn into pneumonia! Chest hurts, labored breathing, aches in the arms and back. I'm forgoing going scrapbooking tonight (don't really trust her with a babysitter tonight), so on the bright side of that I'll get tons of homework done - right?
I know Lucella's not well - is anyone else starting up this early. It's really got me worried about the flu season.. Thank goodness my kids are considered "high risk" and are able to get them as soon as they come out (not that I want the high risk, just means we are one of the first in line to get them - before they run out of the stuff!)

Lu and pto-mom, how does albuterol affect your kids? I gave my son some one time when he was 2 years old and he didn't sleep for nearly 24 hours! I never gave it to him again. But all of my other mommy friends swear by it. ???????

Hi GaMom! ScottMom posted a chicken casserole recipe about two pages back. Shawn and I posted our versions too. Your recipe, with the spicy flare, sounds oh so delicious! I'll have to try that!
I never got around to making the pork loin recipe but I have the ingredients and can't wait to try it!
MIL's visit was awesome! We had such a great time. Yesterday, though, we ate a late breakfast and a late lunch so we never got around to supper.
OMGh! We went on a hike yesterday and my 67 year old MIL kick my rear end. I was breathing hard just trying to keep up with her! What a woman.
