I'll bet I know which one it is...... And good for you. I'm struggling with the same urge to not get up on my soapbox!
Know what? Hubby regularly posts on a drag racing related bulletin board. Due to some anonymous nastiness floating around, the webmaster required all posters to be registered users - using their real names. The lack of anonymity caused the nastiness to come to an immediate halt. Seems that once folks actually became responsible for their comments, they became a lot more mature about what was posted.
Oh - GaMom - my family tried that one year. Bad idea for us...... Sad, too, that it's a random drawing but my mom got my step mom's gift three years in a row! Really bad idea.
OMGoodnes..just read a post on these boards and I'm so angry...wrote and erased three things. Then a thought of a Colonel I worked for who told me about editorials...you write one and some folks will think you're right and some folks will think your an idiot.
I know what he is so I'm keeping my fingers SHUT...
Crew--we do the same game in my family. everyone brings a gift for under $5.00 and we draw numbers. if you get #9, you can choose from the pile, or choose one of the previously opened gifts from 1-8. Since #1 didn't have the option, that is the best number to get, cause at the very end, #1 can keep his gift or choose from all others. This can go on and on! It is so fun--if you have a family that can keep it fun. it could possibly be the start of a fued if you take someone;s gift and they really liked it. we even have people team up to get a particular gift. it is sad. Pop the cork, silver, and start pouring! I hear ya, I hear ya! Sometimes I just want to say--put your big girl panties on and deal with it!
And preach on Scott! My dad thinks it is the ultimate sin to draw names. And i am so tired of driving all over the country on Christmas day. Last year, i acted like i was sick and we sstayed homeon Christmas day and had the best day! We played with all the new stuff and got the house in order and just relaxed together. I know I should be a grown up and just say we aren't coming, but it was just so much easier. I didn't have to argue with my dad about it. I may be sick again this year, especially with all the germs going around here lately.
Boy Crew--you've had it rough lately! i would rather be sick myself than have my hubby sick.
ok--off to study for one last final, and then hit walmart before midnight for a card i knew I needed to get for over 2 weeks and completely forgot until about 10 minutes ago.
since i missed the snowball fight, can I throw a few?? i throw like a girl, so no one is in danger.
Absolutely LOVE the movie Thomas Crowne Affair! I even we so far as to have my hair cut lit Renee at one time.
Okay - why is there always the one. The one who in the final hours of completing a PTO task, after everything is ordered and firmly set (obviously nothing can be changed at this point but a month or even a couple of days ago could have been changed) needs to inject and create drama. Why oh why! It just makes me want to clock them firmly over the head. It's a whole bottle of wine night here!
