I know, d, I know..... I've calmed down. I mean, I got an A (barely with a 92%) on the speech, but the points that were docked were so arbitrary. I have to do three more speeches in front of this lady and I have no idea what she wants. Based on her lecture style I'd say flashy outfits, lots of "so anyway'" "so, um, whatever" and "you know what I mean" when, no, we really don't know what she means.

Imagine having a history professor saying, "So, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, so, anyway, that drew the Americans into the war, but, whatever, it was a big war, and, you know what I mean. And then, eventually, we went to Viet Nam. OK, test Wednesday. Read your chapters and be ready." Uh, what?!?!?! It's like that.

Oh well. It's a beautiful sun-shiny day and the Fall colors are exploding. It's just gorgeous! I'm off to get Shorty from school and then I think we'll go to the state park for a hike.

Been blogging my buttocks off. It really is a great release except I keep looking at the clock and it's 12 o'clock. Yikes--doesn't fit the housework routine too well!

Easy CC--easy--don't p-off the teacher...never bodes well!

Peoria, Illinois has a similar program called Share Food ( Share Food Program - serving PA, NJ, DE, Metro NY & MD Eastern Shore ). I don't know the particulars but friends have said that it's groceries at a greatly reduced cost with an additional requirement of volunteer hours to any charitable organization. I'd say any parent group volunteer should have no trouble getting their hours in!

Grrrrrr - pardon me while I rant - I just got a grade on the first 'subjective' course I've taken. It's not like math or science where the answers are right or wrong. It's a communications class in which the grade is simply based on one person's opinion about your ability to communicate effectively. And, here's the really great part, the professor is a mess. Nobody in the class ever knows what's going on, what they're supposed to be doing, what this lady is talking about, ever. I think in my next speech I'll just parody the professor. Then I'll be sure to get an A+. The audience will have no idea what I'm talking about but maybe the professor will! In the famous words of REO Speedwagon ~ if you really want to let someone know what's on your mind, you have to speak to them in their own language.

It really is an amazing ministry for folks that need it. I've referred many from my school there and they suggest even folks with sufficient funds use them so they can use the money they save for charitable contributions. I'm considering taking them up on it.

Has anyone out there heard of the AngelFood Ministry? It is a great way to save on groceries! Check their website and see if they are in your area. There is no paperwork to fill out, no commitment of any kind and they are nation wide. You can get a box of assorted food items for $30 that you would pay at least $60 for at the grocery store. Don't let the fact that they are called a Ministry put you off, they don't track you down and call on you or anything like that. This was just a need that some people in Georgia became aware of and with the help of a local church now are helping thousands each month. Check it out at Welcome - Angel Food Ministries
