Hi all! I haven't posted for a while. Since school started, we've completed our spiritwear sale, school mall magazine sale, 1st box tops contest of the year, fall festival, haunted house & open house!

I also helped with the election and have a girl scout troop so I'm tired! The PTO isn't doing much until after the holidays, thank goodness!

So sorry to hear the news Luv. My mom is in hospice now and I really do appreciate the love they are giving to my mom. The volunteering idea is a good one -

Thank you CC. She was a sweet person and we wish we could have had her longer. The cancer was diagnosed one week and we lost her the next. Much too quick. I must say that the hospice house here in our town is a huge blessing to the community. There was no way she could go home but this place was like home, and the people who work there from the administration to the janitorial staff were all so caring and compassionate. It gave all of the family and friends who came by a chance to sit and talk and focus completely on my aunt. We reminisced, laughed, cried and made sure we let everyone know how much we loved them.

Mom and I talked about looking into volunteering there after we've had some time. The volunteers, direct people around the facility, bake cookies, and give kind words and support. Things we could both do.

I'm sorry, LUV. What a blessing for your aunt to be surrounded by love as you saw her on her way home. I hope that, once the grief lifts, your heart is filled with peace and happy memories of her.

Well d, you do have your own experience with dead things, so you could have told the possum story!!!

Congrats to the kiddies on the peewee championship.

The beautiful weather for Halloween allowed for sitting on the front step to hand out treats(a nice thing when you live in a neighborhood that gets packed with trick or treaters). It was so fun seeing all the little ones in their costumes-we had some real cuties come to the house including one little tike who said "Twick o Tweat!" and then tried to give ME candy and another boy about 6 yrs old who took the candy then gave me a long stare and said, "You look nice." After what had been a rough week of sitting in the hospice house with my favorite aunt and then losing her Thursday morning I needed a boost. I think children pick up on those things sometimes and amaze us with their pure kindness. Maybe that long stare spotted something.
