Hey all, I'm back from our 'spring' break. We had beautiful weather for the break, even got in the 90's one day. We spent 3 days at Disneyland and the rest spring cleaning, mostly in the garage.

CC - lol I'm sure a clip DVD like that would be a huge seller. Not sure if you watch Deal or No Deal, but (and i've always questioned my wife why they've never done this before) tonight instead of the gorgeous models, there will be firefighters instead... now, i'm assuming the player is female, but hey, who knows nowadays.

ONAROLL- I'm not a SDSU fan, but i love San Diego, and my good friend is an Aztec, so on behalf of the other so-calites, go Aztecs!

LUV- you can always do what others, especially out here do, and walk around with the cell phone actually strapped to your ear, ala a switchboard operator... "oooh yeah, you look real cool with a big piece of plastic sticking off your ear..." <rolling eyes> I hope this does not catch on.

Well, i've got some work to do on my Family Reading Night. It's set for next Friday, and my teachers are really flaking out on this. And the office staff... i put in a request for our Print Shop (they do all the bulk printing) on Wed. March 7th, and still haven't gotten the flyers back yet. Apparently the office staff forgot to scan it over to Print Shop until Friday (9th) and being spring break, Print Shop was not open that day or since... Now, i'm waiting for 1000 flyers to show up (hopefully tomorrow) so i can get them out...

LUV, I want to be in your son's class!

Last week I got to karate early and watched some of the kids class. The instructor asked if they'd taken sugar out of the schools already because the kids were so slow in class. She told them to make sure they eat something with sugar before class this week. My son said to me, "How come the kids class gets candy and plays fun games and we just get hit?"

onaroll - thanks for the info on Premonition. I like Sandra Bullock but had heard bad reviews about the movie. But now that I know about the shower scene.... :eek:

Hmmm, the waterfall scene in A Walk on the Moon, the volleyball game in Top Gun, and now this. Someone should make a movie of just those clips..... :cool:

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day weekend. d - I'm sending virtual ice pops your way. My youngest had hers out a few years ago and it is amazing how they bounce back!

Luv - I would LOVE to be your taste tester! I love pie and hardly ever bake one. I think I'm pretty good in the baking dept. but pies are another story, can never get the crust right!

Our kids just had "winter" break for a week in February. It about two weeks they get "spring" break for a week! My poor girls just don't get why mommy and daddy don't get the same vacations from work...oh, I wish!

Went to see Premonition this weekend. It was not bad, especially the shower scenes with Julian McMahon...aaahhhh.

Going to the SU game tonight, they are playing in the NIT basketball tourney! The girls have never been and hubby follows them like a hawk so it's going to be really fun. We made catchy signs over the weekend.

Shawn and anyone else CA way, don't know how close you are to San Diego but SU's playing S.D. State and I have to say...GO SU!!

That apple cake recipe sounds good. I think I might replace the sour cream with apple sauce and see how that works. I've been a baking fool lately. Started a few weeks ago when I began sending a homemade treat to my son's class every Friday. I figure it's my last year at elementary and looks like it will be the last year that we'll be able to send homemade goodies, so I'm going all out. You know I just thought of something: if you have a home business baking goodies, would those be taboo at the school? I got asked if I would be willing to bake a couple of pies for someone for payment. I'm toying with the idea of a little side business.

I haven't tried the maple muffins yet but I'm going to make them this week. I bought the yellow cake mix to make Shawn's yummy apple cake. When Shorty got the box he said, "Ooooo, are you making my favorite yellow cake with chocolate frosting?" So, I made yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I'll make the apple cake next week.

We have a friend who only turns his phone on when he wants to make a call then he turns it off again. He says it's for his convenience, not everyone else's.

Hubby has always been a loud phone talker so now he's also a loud cell phone talker. I hate it and I always have to remind him to quiet down.

Big news around town - a CiCis pizza opened last week. Everyone's excited. We haven't been there yet. Maybe we'll go for lunch today.

Cell phones-the new way to be rude. I love the people who talk on them everywhere. Like I want to hear your personal business! Let's not even get into the people who talk and drive! Very few people have my number, because I don't want to spend the day with a phone attached to my ear!

Kids are on last day of spring break here. I took off work last week, but had to come back today. They have called me 5 times in 1 1/2 hours. I should get a break for a while since one of my son's friends called and invited them to his house(his mom is off today). We didn't go anywhere either CC, just hung around town and watched a couple movies, did some things around the house, and played games. It was nice and relaxing.
