Tim, we are in a very family oriented neighborhood, so I'm not too worried about the slab being a negative thing and like you, I'd pour it anyway. If we ever sell the house, I'll spin it as a floor for a large garden shed!
Awww-that is sweet...it's that edge thing I was talking about. Until you realize what you might lose...Hubby commutes up to DC everyday and I still hate to think hard about it. Sometimes its just turning left instead of right that makes the difference.
Suck up the attention...you deserve it and it'll make him feel better too!!!

BTW, Shawn, I love that song. I'll suggest it to hubby.
I ran to the store to get "burgers on the grill" fixins and about half the shoppers had charcoal in their carts. I guess everyone is grilling out tonight.
Hubby got a scare yesterday. Shorty and I had left for karate class about 10 minutes before he heard all kinds of sirens out on the main road. He said he had a clear picture of us in an accident and was scared to death. He was just getting up to go check on things when a huge firetruck and a police car screamed down our street and pulled into the driveway. He thought for sure that they were coming to give him bad news. Turns out the guy behind us was burning brush and his field caught on fire. The only way they could get to it was to drive through our back yard and through the field. Even though it had nothing to do with us and we're just fine, he's hardly let us out of his sight all day long. That's sweet, huh?!?!
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."
"The ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory or defeat but in the true perfection of one's character."
